I'm Not a Birther BUT....

there's something freaky going on in the state of Hawaii. * Governor Neil Abercrombie states that finding and releasing Barack Obama's birth records is a high priority for him. He states he has first-hand knowledge of Obama's Hawaiian birth and knew him as a baby. *Governor Abercrombie then states that he hasn't come up with the long form certificate yet, but there's something.. a notation... something written in the archives. He doesn't specify what he's found. *Governor Abercrombie then states that he's been advised that he can't release any information without Obama's permission -something we've all known for two years, since that is the reason the hospital(s) ( two different hospitals were given at two different times as the place of his birth ) gave for not answering questions about his birth records. *Celebrity beat reporter Mike Evans says in a radio interview that he's known Abercrombie for years and is a friend. He states that Abercrombie told him that he can't find the birth certificate. He says Abercrombie knew Obama Sr in college and knew little Barry from about the time he was 5 or 6 (long after Obama Sr was out of the picture so again, makes no sense in the time-line). Evans told KQRS that he talked "with Neil's office, Neil says that he's searched everywhere using his power as governor" at the two hospitals Obama was likely born at in 1961 - Kapiolani Medical Center and Queens Medical Center - only to come up empty. "There is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii," Evans claimed he was told by the governor's office. "Absolutely no proof that he was born in Hawaii... *A few days after giving that interview, Mike Evans says he "misspoke" and that Abercrombie didn't tell him those things. "This I can you tell you is 100% fact," he told Fox News. "Neil never told me there was no birth certificate... I never talked to him." Evans told the Daily News in an e-mail that he was "STUNNED!" when his statements appeared in headlines nationwide. "I NEVER knew I said it until I heard it," he wrote, adding that he feels "embarrassed" by the entire incident. *Abercrombie's Interim Hawaii Health Director Dr. Neal Palafox abruptly quits 2 days ago. He did not give a reason for his resignation nor would he confirm or deny whether he was asked to resign. There have been rumors about investigations but the AG's office denies any ongoing investigation and there are no criminal complaints filed against Palafox. If you didn't believe in conspiracy theories, the strange goings on in Hawaii are enough to make you start to wonder. So, what the heck is going on in Hawaii? Did Abercrombie decide to find the BC because 10 states are considering legislation that will beef up the proofs needed to run for office and he wanted to ensure Obama would be eligible? Why hasn't Obama told Abercrombie to shut up, since this is only more fodder for the birther conspiracy?

I always thought that Obama's relative silence about the birthers was his way of saying without saying that some people are crazy and will look even crazier when you don't answer. It's kinda like Area 51 in a sense. If someone denies it, there are really aliens there. And if someone doesn't answer, OMG, there must be hundreds of aliens in there! I'm not entirely sure, but I think Obama is just letting this guy fall in with the crazies and fight his own battle. Not saying that the birth certificate issue isn't of importance, but a lot of "birthers" go nuts with it and take it well beyond a question. And those seem to be the ones Abercrombie wants to use in order to gain favor with the pro-Obamas. So Obama himself probably wants them all to shut up in his heart of hearts, but is also more than willing to let these guys theorize their way out of existence while he flies under the radar by not mentioning it.

The birth certificate is a question, that's why it remains an issue. There are those who insist it doesn't exist and Obama is not a citizen. They become Fringe group A. There are those who believe it does exist, without a doubt and are a bit flummoxed when asked why Obama doesn't just release his records. They sincerely wish he would but they have to defend him so they just answer "Cause he ain't gotta, that's why". There's (in my opinion) a larger group that will always answer that they believe he's a citizen whether they have questions or not to avoid being placed in Fringe Group A. Then there's a small group, about 14% of supporters who don't think he's a citizen but don't care, they're just happy that he's the president and those Constitutional technicalities don't interest them. They are the much-ignored Fringe Group B. The media pretends they don't exist. But honestly, this weird stuff going on in Hawaii... it's so freaky, you couldn't make this stuff up. I personally wonder how anyone can say "I didn't know I said it until I heard me saying it". Is that a way of not saying "I am a liar"? Or is he just not really good at making up excuses for telling tales out of school? I think Obama is a holographic projection the Democrats are using to simulate a president. They so wanted to be popular.

Rollo1.. you said "I think Obama is a holographic projection the Democrats are using to simulate a president. They so wanted to be popular." That is a hoot I have laughed so much at this remark" Now you have given me a new avenue of thought to pursue regarding his presidency!

I will try to be civil in my answer to you both. Must I remind you that unless you are "Native American" you too aren't a citzen here in the U.S. As far as I'm concerned they are the only ligitimate "Americans". The rest of us are immigrants who took over the native American's land and therefore their country. As far as I'm concerned President Obama has just as much right to hold that high office as anyother who has held it. He could have persued anything else for a career and been quite successful but instead he chose to sacrifice his own career to try to help what seems to me an ungrateful nation. For that I admire him. It is not where he was born but the job he is attempting to do under an extremely dangerous and difficult situation. At least he's trying which is more than what I can say about the rest of the congress.

I have no idea what is going on. I am of two opinions that Obama was born in the states but acts as if he was not or Obama was not born in the States and is acting like he was by pretending to be moderate. By the way if he told Abercrombie to shut up, that would prove to me that he was not born in the States since that is an action of a dictator and not a president. However when Obama wanted all his records hidden, that made me suspicious. Oh I do not like non-birthers those who tell women who are not abusers or haters of children that they should not have children that is what I consider the birther or non-birthday deal. For me, this is about whether Obama is legally the president of the States or not. And he is not, he is given a pass because of him being part black. To me that would be discrimination. I would hate what would happen if he were to be proven not to have been a natural born American citizen. That would make a big mess.

t is very confusing for me. I mean that there are some laws he put through and those stimulus checks plus the tax paper he gave to Gm, the green energy thing (that I do not like unless it is proven cheaper then gas and oil)plus him preventing drilling in the States and off line so that you will be forced to use expensive green energy. Then there is the healthcare bill. Also what makes it more unjust - is there an exception to the rule that America has to have a natural born citizen for president based on ethnic group or race? That is deliberately unfair.

I think the majority feel the same way - of two opinions. They don't really know for sure if he is or if he isn't but they would sure like him to settle it either way.

OK, These are the kind of comments that really wind me up. Just as a reminder unless you and your ancestry are of Pure Native American ancestry, you were an immigrant too. Now America finally has a Afro-American president and all of a sudden ethnic origin is an issue when in the country's past history it did not make much difference as long as the prospective president was caucasian. Religion in the past was challenged but in the end it really did not make much difference as in the case of JFK who was Catholic. There was some discussion about his religion but in the end it really did not make much of a difference and to many people including me he was the best president the country had in my lifetime. Now we are in the "Obama" era. Here we have a man who has put his life and his family's on the line to try bring some kind of sense to our messed up world with an emphasis on helping the country climb out of the mire of the last eight years and all anyone can talk about is the man's family name. In my humble opinion the nation needs to get its act togather and for once really try to put aside political and personal differences and create a better world for future generations and the world in general.

All that this says to me is that Obama has some very powerful allies who are willing to lie and even worse for him. He must have a really big secrets which are not only his birth records but his Law License has had a problem: 1. President Barack Obama, former editor of the Harvard Law Review, is NO longer a "lawyer". He surrendered his license back in 2008 in order to escape charges he lied on his bar application. A "Voluntary Surrender" is NOT something where you decide "Gee, a license is not really something I need anymore, is it?" and forget to renew your license. No, a "Voluntary Surrender" is something you do when you've been accused of something, and you 'voluntarily surrender" you license five seconds before the state suspends you. 2. Michelle Obama "voluntarily surrendered" her law license in 1993. 3. So, we have the first black President and First Lady - who do NOT actually have licenses to practice law. Facts. “Voluntarily retired” — what does that mean? Bill Clinton hung onto his law license until he was convicted of making a false statement in the Lewinsky case and had to “Voluntarily Surrender” his license too. This is the former editor of the Harvard Law Review who doesn’t seem to give a crap about his law license. Something else odd; while the Search feature brings up the names, any searches for the Disciplinary actions ends quickly. As in, Too Quickly. Less than a half-second quickly on a Search Engine that can take five seconds to Search for anything. As in, “there’s a block on that information” kind of thing. So we have the first Lawyer President and First Lady — who don’t actually have licenses to practice law. There’s more to this story, I’m sure. I’ll let you know when I find it. http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/Obama-Law-License.htm Personally I really question why Obama does not just come clean and get rid of all the rumors and innuendos and not to mention the million dollars in lawyers fees to keep everything hidden. Which, IMO, would be the actions of an innocent man!

I have always wondered about the fact that neither holds a current license to practice law but it's not a story that the press has pursued. And you are right, no one voluntarily surrenders their license except under agreement with the bar overseers and usually to avoid disciplinary action. The same is true of medical doctors. Simply not paying your renewal fees would give you a license that lapsed. There could be little to nothing to the story, but since no one has investigated or reported on it, we'll likely never know.

IMO, Barack and Michelle were not much of anything until the last election. Of course Obama looked like a fragrant saviour after the Bush administration and the collapsed of the economy. Something much powerful is controlling this government. Obama was just groomed to be the president. Wow, I just realized I have a growing list of information many of us want to know. JFK assassination Roswell incident Area 51 and Dugway, Utah the Illuminati Bilderberg Group Aliens and UFOs Oil Spill 911 and Pentagon attack the list goes on

Hawaii is looking at changing the laws so you can have access to Obama's BC if you pay $100. So this is looking more and more like the birthers are about to lokk like the crazies they have been for the last few years. I mean really the Certificate of Live Birth is enough to gain a Social Security Card and is given out in most states as a cheaper way for people to prove where they where born. Like for me I could of payed $75 dollars and got a copy of my long form birth certificate or $25 for my Certificate of Live Birth which states that AZ has my long form Birth Certificate on record so I was born in AZ. You can't get a Certificate of Live Birth if you where born in a different country as the state wouldn't have you on file. http://www.aolnews.com/2011/01/28/hawaii-bill-would-charge-100-for-access-to-barack-obama-birth-r/

It would be a violation of privacy laws. I can't see how it would pass Constitutional muster.

A lot of states are crafting legislation to make a birth certificate necessary proof to run for office. If Hawaii changes their law, then I guess we will finally know for sure. If the ten states changing their laws do so before 2012, Obama's going to have to pony up and produce the long form BC. Either way, should be lots of fun. But why is the governor of Hawaii and everyone around him acting like circus clowns?

Hi Rollo..., I am an African American retiree living in Thailand and when I sit back and watch certain news networks report hearsay, inuendos and the like it embarasses me. When President Obama was elected it was a proud moment in history. You see, I lived during the time of lynchings and such and being called the "N" word. It seems to me there is still an aire of prejudice in some circles of "American" society. It seems there are still some really mean spirited people out there. No one made much of a fuss when a certain president sat on a stool in a grade school classroom listening to students read while the "World Trade Center" was being attacked. I have to admit some of the things he has initated (Pres. Obama that is) I raise my eyebrow about and I am not pleased with some of his policies but again, "you can't please all the people all the time..." After all he did make good on his promise as it relates to pullung combat troops out of Iraq and on schedule. To me it is not fairhe get the rap for everything that has gone down since he was elected. After all, the country had in my humble opinion eight of the worse years in my 65 years on this rock in space. As I remember the previous president left the country in pretty good financial conditon. My only beef with him was his needless indescretion. Other than that he was good for the country and there were jobs and work for all who wanted to work. In less than two years the previous president to President Obama managed to get the country into a nasty unecessary and very expensive war costing in lives and resources. As I remember when President Clinton took office the country was badly in debt and by the end of his first term he had reduced the national debt and the country was head in a prosperous direction. By the end of his second term in office the country had moved from debt to prosperity and had if I remember correctly, over one hundred million dollars surplus in the treasury.

I agree that America can be proud of itself. We elected a black man to the White House which is evidence of how far we have come in the area of race relations and in becoming one society. It's an amazing amount of progress considering that 150 years is not a lot of time in the long annals of history. But in order to truly consider ourselves free from racism, we must also be free to criticize or disagree with any elected official, regardless of race, religion, creed or color. We cannot allow that anyone who disagrees with Obama must be a racist. This is shameful and untrue. Many who voted for him are now dissatisfied with his policies. They did not suddenly become racist. Like you, they raise eyebrows and are not pleased with some of his policies. I particularly like Rep Alan West of Florida, because I like his policies and positions on issues, his straightforward way of speaking and the strength of his convictions. When Democrats disagree with this black Republican, I do not think it is because they are racist. The only racist view would be to believe that he must hold certain views merely because of his race. I won't argue any of Obama's policies, accomplishments or failures. However, I think that you and I would both recognize those debates as political ones and not anything else. I think the biggest problem people have with Obama is a sense that his experience in life is not the American experience. He grew up in another country, experienced that culture. He holds a much more global view than most, he seems to be less proud of his country than most would like and because of this unease with his "Americanism" there are these doubts about the birth place. I doubt it would be much of an issue otherwise. I think that America has much to be proud of. Certainly there have been times we haven't lived up to the ideal, mistakes have been made and we generally recognize that and try to move on and do better. What we want our president to do is to present our country to the world as a bastion of liberty and something to be proud of. I am proud of my country. I am proud of our progress. I wish I felt that Obama felt the same way, but I really am not sure of that.
