Well Some of you may remember my discussion of a few days ago about a cellular phone. I want a new one, and I think I found the best bet. I want an android phone and found a prepaid plan that I can do for $55.00/ month no data charges. The phone will cost me $195.00. That is a lot of money to pay for a phone, and I've also been looking into getting unlocked phones for cheaper, but If I do that I want to be sure I can tie it to cricket service.
You will be seeing my discussions and responses a lot more around here as I have a goal to get the phone by March and so I am going to be online here trying to do my best to get the money needed for the phone.
Does anyone else use the Cricket Cellular Phone Service? I've had it in the past and from what I remember was happy with it.

I know that when I had cricket I remember liking it pretty much. I've had Virgin Mobile (prepaid), Cricket, Sprint and now Straight Talk (Prepaid). I remember I got sprint because one of my friends had it and it would be mobile to mobile, I believe it was also around the time that we were thinking of moving down to the beach so that way it would be easier and cheaper for us to communicate.
I text message more then anything so as long as I can get unlimited text that would be good. Cricket has it's own android plan you have to use but it's $55.00 / no data charges which is great!

That sounds like a good deal. Why are those phones so expensive? I know several people who use Cricket's service and like it. What does 'no data charges' mean? I am such a novice when it comes to this stuff. My granddaughter and her husband have the Walmart phones and are happy with their service.

I had Cricket when I was in Arizona and it was a fairly decent service for local. It was horrible if you were traveling as you had to pay extra for set minutes to use on "roaming". I'm with Tmobile now and don't have those issues so I like it better than Cricket, but if all you are going to use it for is local, you should be fine.

I have not tried Cricket's phone service. I tried their internet service and was happy with it. It was the cheapest rate too, without a contract! But I needed something faster for my broadcasts and skype. But I would try their phone service I think.
