We know hermit crabs needs shells as their home, protection and shelter. when hermit crabs are growing up they were in need to change shells, so they will go around the beach and find bigger shells that is exact to the size of their body or else they will die. But there are times where hermit crabs cant find a shell where they can fit. I was amazed with the resourcefulness of these hermit crabs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxFpJqATFag http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeU9uDpS6yM

Wow, that's amazing and interesting at the same time. They are resourceful. I wonder how healthy it is for them to do that.

I think as long as the container is exact fit for them and they find it comfortable its okay for them. They do that if there is no shell left, They will die without a shell, basically when they grow, they wanted a shell that is exact fit to their body. Its really weird that they can fit in bottlecaps and cans.

I use to have them as pets but I dont want to have another one again because I dont like pets with low lifespan. Its not worth the emotional attachment.

Wow.. That looks pretty weird.. Like some bow budget movie alien invader.. But it's a it sad to see a being attached to a piece of junk but hey ..maybe that junk can save the thing's life. If I'll be rich when I'll be older maybe I'll start some Crab Real-Estate society.. That could be fun...

I cant believe that hermit crab was able to feel comfortable in that can. I wonder if they can use claypots as shells too. Anyway I saw a store that sells glass shells where hermit crabs can live and it looks creepy.
