What a Deal!!!

Last week there was a sale at the Kroger grocery store here and I didn't know about it until my supervisor told me and showed me the add in the paper!! So I went to the Kroger on the way home from work because she said she was going the next day! Well they were the cans of Del Monte vegetables, Peas, Carrots, Green Beans, Corn, Nude Potatoes, Spinach, and a few more for 26 cents!! So when I went the first time I saw that the carrots were mostly gone!!!! And when I went to other Kroger stores around all they had left were corn and green beans!! But they said you could get a rain check and come back when there were more I did not want to go through all that but she did. Any way needles to say my cabinet is full of vegetables!! I think I got like 60 cans!! Would you have done the same or did you?

If I had the money to spare to buy such an amount I most certainly would of stocked up on the canned veggies we use the most! That's quite I deal! I only see sales like that once in a blue moon around the holidays.

Yeah I was surprised and shocked to find such a deal!!! I am thankful I had the money that day!! I couldn't resist such a good deal!! My cabinets are full!!

It's a good feeling to have full cabinets! It's quite the opposite when they are thinning out and you have no money to spend. *sigh*
But you know I feel old but when Aldi came to town here many of their canned goods and items were like that .25 or less. Now it's up to .59 not that it's bad exactly but dang I wish it was still that cheap all the time. Kids eat WAAAAYYYYY too much and too fast!

Yes that is a good feeling because being off work for all week except one day I am looking at a one day check next Friday and it did come in handy!! That is a good deal where you are .25 cents a can!! I am sure they go fast!!

I absolutely would have done the same! 26 cents is a great buy so I'd have stocked up as much as I could. We have King Soopers here instead of Kroger, but they're the same store and they sometimes have some very good sales. They occasionally send out coupons for free stuff, too, like butter and frozen vegetables.

Definately would have done the same. I had a thing like this year or so ago on Gator Aid. As memory serves...I had coupons for $2 off 5 bottles. I had like 10 of these coupons as they came with the bottles that I bought in the first place. So I watched the sales and Target had the bottle of Gator Aid on sale for 79 cents a bottle. $2 coupons for 5 would be 40 cents off each bottle. So I got 79cents minus 40cents for 39 cents a bottle! I had coupons so I used (I think they would only let me use 2 at a time) two coupons and got 10 bottles for 39 cents each. Took them out to my car, went back in for 10 more and went to a different cashier! Took them out, went back 2 more times and used my coupons and got a stock of Gator Aid for myhusband and the kids!
If the stores want to play the games with us, they shouldn't be mad when we learn how to play their game and out play them at their own game!

Oh yeah it makes us smart shoppers to do just that. As I so love our Jewel which normally has the great savings. So when I have the extra money I too run to our neighborhood Jewel and stock up also.

Kroger up north is liker are Publix here down south or in Florida i should say. I of course have been to a Kroger since i have a family house in TN and down the street from that house in a Kroger and we go grocery shopping there when we visit TN. Now i probably would have gotten some cans maybe two of each just to stock up and to have them incase i didnt have any fresh ones one day to cook. I always get both fresh and canned vegetables to have both and to keep both stocked up on and to always have enough of the vegetables because we do go through them alot and when you can get some good deals on them its important to go get them so your not wasting your time away.
