Making Mondays Better

Monday again!! *sigh* I like my job but no matter what it is still hard to come back to work on Mondays. What do you guys do to make a nice transition back into the work week? I know for me I must lay out my clothes the night before so my morning goes smoothly, and pack something really tasty for lunch. If possible I try to bring some fun treat too, like a new kind of tea to try, updating the music on my iPod, etc... Any other tips to make Mondays a bit more pleasant? :)

I usually feel crappy about Monday, too. Especially when I wake up real late and don't get to prepare my stuff and my lunch else I'd be really late at work. So what I do is to sleep in early on Sunday night, so I could wake up early on Monday morning. I can wake up late any day except Monday. When my Monday morning is relaxed, the day becomes good, and so does the week ahead.

Yep! For me, I try to do all the chores on Saturday, so that by Sunday, I'm doing just the fun stuff - no work. Then, sleep early and voila, happy Monday! I did this for this week that's why I'm extra perky this Tuesday morning.

Oh yeah, I completely agree. Anything to make Mondays easier seems to make them better! I guess I just need to get more done on Sundays! LOL

I own a small business in a small city. Usually i work 16 hours a day in 7 days a week. No difference between sunday or monday, i like better a monday than sunday, why? Because in monday i can much more money! May be if we can find any rewards for us or we can make it, we will find a nice monday. For the first time i have a same feeling with you, know i put girls for being an employee at monday to wednesday and boys for thursday to saturday then in sunday i bring my family there. I give a bonus some money every monday and thursday because i got much money more than other day. Hard for you?

Every day for 16 hours?! Yow, I think I would go nuts, I need at least one day to rest and do stuff around the house, with family, etc...Glad you like your Mondays though!! Hope you find time to rest some day!

Wait..!! Not only some day, brother! It's just a small business, and as the owner, i can give more if anyone needs to get some rest including me. In my small city, work so hard or not, you will find the same, it caused no much people to use your products or services here. All of 16 hours are to make sure that we grow faster than others here. And if we reach a certain point, it doesn't important anymore to work. Last feast day we have 20 days to enjoy the time (of course we reach so much earnings before). I just play a theory : "if we can boost our speed, we can have more time and etc at finish line", and of course who work harder, he/she get more rewards. So, make a good rewards to boost your spirit then you will find same fun condition every day.

Personally it is always hard to come back to work on Monday, especially when it is a job that sometimes you dread going too. The only good thing for me to look forward too then, is it is usually SLOW at work so that is a plus. Just wish there was something exciting to look forward too like something Good happening all of the time instead of day after day of repeats never really knowing what else BAD to expect.

Yeah. Sleep in. Play hooky! ! Well, kidding, but seriously, I'm not sure if there really is any fix for the Monday blahs, or the shock of work environment after a relaxed weekend. I always figured Mondays were the ultimate sign of adult responsibility. One must get up from one's cozy warm bed (often while it's still dark), & one must go to work to pay bills to survive, no matter how disagreeable one's job may be, in the same spirit as one must take nasty medicine--if one wishes to get well. One just takes a deep breath, holds one's nose, grits one's teeth, & just does it. But I like your suggestion that there might be ways to take the edge off. A great treat for lunch would be something I'd anticipate. There surely must be other perks which would do well throughout the day. Do you really like your job? Get along with your co-workers & boss? If not, I doubt even German chocolate cake (my favorite) would help me. The only cure for a really bad work environment is finding a different place to work. It might be worth it to you, as one does spend nearly a third of one's day there, for at least 5 days a week. For that amount of time to be a drag would be bad for one's health--physical as well as mental. I was blessed with a job so good that I still miss it! Mondays weren't usually a problem for me. I'm retired, now, but my work at the University of Texas at Austin's rare books & manuscripts library was my dream job. Literally. I wish for you to find your dream job, so you'll look forward to your Mondays! Maggiepie "The path of least resistance is what makes rivers & politicians crooked." ~ Source unknown

I do love my job actually!! But I admit I love my weekends more!! Hahaha :) I just love to treat myself on Mondays I guess...I know if I'm not well rested and feeling organized going into the week I have a harder time getting going. Rare books, now that does sound like a lovely job! I work in the pet industry and one of my favorite things I look forward to when I start my work week is the 3 cats that live in my office. Having them greet me at the door in the mornings is so wonderful!! :)

I don't like Mondays one bit, and, on top of going back to work, I always seem to have things to do left over from Sunday. I don't know about others, but my weekends are never long enough to finish what I have to do, let alone to also relax a little bit. Anyway, there's a little shop on my way to work that sells pastry and coffee, and the owner makes these little cakes I really like, but they're only available on Wednesday. Now I'm trying to convince him to switch the special day to Monday, at least it would make me feel a tiny bit better about Mondays
