Only time will tell how important Raul Meireles will become to Liverpool, but certainly he is now a key player at Anfield. It seems that the coming of Dalglish made magic there and Liverpool started playing football again and has made some very good results, with Meireles being a key player there. Xabi Alonso and Mascherano won the Champions League with Liverpool, Aquilani never accustomed there, so it is difficult to compare Meireles with them. But I always liked the fighting spirit of this guy and the fans always appreciate this type of players, especially if they score important goals as well.

Yes, he is really a great holding midfielder, who also helps the offense a lot. So maybe he is a type of Xabi Alonso, who is great at intercepting and also scores every now and then.

Hi adhyz, I think Liverpool fan would hardly forget Xabi Alonso and Mascherano on their contributions for Liverpool and at the same time about their transfer (and after sales serveice - accusions, blaming and so on - lol). Aquilani is a flop and never be on the Liverpool mind. It is good to see Morales to score goal after goal. It would build his confidence especially if Gerrard is not around. He is more an attacking/offensive midfielder for me then the holding midfielder. And he can play that role nicely. I do not think we can compare Morales with Mascherano because Mascherano is more to defensive midfielder (role taken by Lucas nowaday) while Morales, like I said before is more on offensive midfielder. Anyway I do hope Morales can copy the contribution of Mascherano in bringing Liverpool to where Liverpool deserve to be (at the top of the league). Good luck.

I think he is enjoying playing in a more attacking role under Dalglish. He seems to be relishing playing in the hole behind the striker. His scoring has been pretty clinical and his goal against Chelsea was a top drawer finish that any forward would be proud of. Acquilani would be easy to forget as he was a flop at Liverpool, but the other two have served Liverpool for a long time and Raul Meireless has to be consistent to replace them in the minds of the fans. Cheers! Ram

I missed the second half!!How was the goal?Liverpool is back on track again after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge despite losing Torres. Meireles is good player, but less people notice that, in my opinion

because holding midfielder is rarely to score a goal.. everybody only watch a player who score many goals

He is definitely the player on form now. It is amazing how he has transformed after the change in manager. During the Roy Hodgson era, I thought he was just another flop purchase. But since Dalglish took over, he has been banging in the goals. Whether or not, this is just a purple patch or is he really that good, we can only gauge after a few more matches.

Raul Meireless is definately a hero for Liverpool at the moment. 4 goals in 5 matches. Liverpool has now won 4 matches in a row, and Raul he been a big part of that. But before I woudl say that he is "THE HERO" for Liverpool, then he must score more goals, and at least reach 10-12 goals or many assists for liverpool this season. But I think everyone in Liverpool likes him after his goal against Chelsea, because this victory gave then so much confidence.
