Gold and we, the common people.

Gold is becoming so costly day by day that it is going beyond the reach of common people? Do you think its use in the making of ornaments will be affected? If so happens, what metal, in your opinion, is going to take its place in the making of ornaments?

Ya it is indeed increasing!! But the craze for it, especially among women, has not come down at all!! Even these days i see the same crowds in the jewellery shops as they were some 5 or 6 years ago!! May be some new material with same lusture and properties will be invented or discovered, which will take the position of gold!!

Thus, you want to mean that price is not a factor at all.

By ornaments I assume you mean jewelry. There's plenty of other options out there from glass , plastics, stainless, silver, or even fake golds, etc. Personally I've never seen the allure of real gold anyways.

Dear friend, Yes, gold is sure to do the rock and roll in the coming days. The prices shooting up. The women are after it, the investors are investing in it. I feel when hunger comes this yellow shining metals is just a metal. It is only useful when it has a selling price and demand, other wise just a metal.People are doing many things to get this metal.

I actually don't think that the common adornments that are already made with gold are going to be changed at this period in time because of the increased price of gold. Instead, I think that what we've already seen happening is going to continue to be the trend. What I mean is that the cost of items that include gold are going to continue to grow more expensive. However, I also believe that the price of gold will eventually go back down and then the prices of these items will get cheaper again.

It is not only because of the value of the metal. We have imprinted the value upon gold and that is the reason why people are running after to buy it. It is sure that today or tomorrow it will be more worthier than what presently have. As it can be concerted at any time into cash, people alwyas make an eye on this yellow metal and would like to have hold as much then can. It is always in the for of cash at any moment and non perishable. There are so many other reasons also to hold gold and the demand in the the international market also decides its hike in the prices. Thank-s

I think women run after gold as they love it very much but men run after gold as they think it to be a good investment.

hi doctor didi well now I really do not think I have a piece of jewelery that contains gold as if I had I would not b here in this dismal retirement center but back on El dorado gardens apartment complex and my son would be working. so gold is not the most important thing in my life or in my thoughts. my jewelry consists of two necklaces that neither one contain any gold. a lot of common folk are fighting now to get a jobs and be able to afford fo d and rent and utilities so Gold ornaments would not be of much use to us unless we could sell them for cash money. Right now with jobs scarce and the cost of living on the rise I am not really caring what they put on ornaments but rather on good jobs and sourses of money to be had.Sorry to be so negative but I am in a rather negative situation ri ght now.

Ornaments? Probably just paint. Maybe bronze or something that looks good. They may stop making that particular ornament if they get the right look for it. You be surprised the things they can do now days to make something appear to be what it really isn't. May take some planning but they may be able to come up with something.

I find that the costs are way too high that here in the US many women are going more for the costume jewelry instead. It has gotten way too expensive and thieves are also robbing them so most are opting for the costume ones.

Ya I agree with you the Gold is so costly it is not possible for every common people to purchase it. Sory but I cant say what metal can be used to making an ornaments. But I seen now a days many of the person uses 2gm or 3gm gold and most of the people use artificial ornaments.

People can make ornaments out of anything if that is what they want or prefer but gold will always be gold and nothing can replace it because it is an element, being such it has characteristics and properties unique in it self like luster, malleability etc...and industrial uses that are very hard to replace. I think gold will still be sought after as history has shown and would remain for those who can afford or are willing to invest in it for the future.
