What if God would say "Everybody is going to Heaven!"

Philippines
February 16, 2011 5:07am CST
What if one day God goes down to earth and told us all that each one of us will go to heaven no matter how bad or good we are? Are you going to be disappointed because you have tried so hard to do good deeds your whole life because you wanted to go to heaven? Or are you going to be happy because you have lived a life which will be hard for you to be accepted in heaven? Are you going to change the way you live your life? Will you try to do "bad" things which you were afraid to do before because you fear you might go to hell? Or are you just gonna live the way you are doing now? Please tell me your thoughts about this.

Most of the guys my age are either married or attached, so I cannot flirt with them. But if all people change to be bad, I may become bad, too.

I don't think anyone goes to hell just because they became more flirty.

I have this theory that we're all going to heaven anyway regardless if we have been good or bad in our lives. I believe that we are all influenced by the environment, by our body chemistry, by our social lives. etc etc. And if some people do bad things, it's because they had sh*tty lives, or they were raised to be that way, or something happened to them that made them that way. AND, I don't believe that God would be so cruel as to put any of us in hell just for being human. ANYWAY, I guess I'm getting off topic. If I was in that scenario, I wouldn't change anything in my life. I'll go on as I always have.

Well, the bible did say that God is the epitome of unconditional love. How can it be unconditional if you HAVE to be good to be loved by God, right? I think we've misunderstood His Words, big time. And I also believe that Hell is just right here. In our own minds. We experience pain, suffering, fear. Right here, in this earth. And we die. Now I think that's hell right there.

You are not being of topic. That is exactly the topic. And I like your theory! I believe in it too.

If we would really asked God He would definitely want us all in heaven with Him, but since He provided us with freewill it is now up to us if we would want to end up down in those flaming arena or up there in His paradise. I'm not perfect, nobody is, I'm a sinner, but as much as possible majority of what I do I base on the will of God. When I do something that is disgraceful I ask for forgiveness and see to it that I won't be able to do that mistake again, it is very hard to accomplish but I'm pretty sure I'm in control. I was raised in a good and religious family and I'm so thankful for that, it did helps me a lot to be a good person that I am now. And I wouldn't want to change that even if I've found out that bad people will likewise be in heaven with God.

If this is done... then Heaven will not have that importance and people will not think about what will haven when they die... They all will just do things that they like and what they wants to do.... I think most of the people will remain the same and do what they are doing now...as they are more afraid about the law and order of the country then god...

That is exactly what I think! We should all just do what we like and what we want! But I am on the side of people who would still do what they are doing now, because I know I am doing good things NOT just because I want a reward of heaven, but just because I want to do good things.

Heaven is a reward we are promised. It would be wonderful for everyone to have this experience. good or bad, heaven is a place where no souls should be barred.

I think that there are people out there that fear what will happen in the after life that are not genuinely good people. I feel that these people would revert to their baser nature. I am going to continue living my life the best that i can, and hope to leave it a little better than when I entered this world.

I don't believe in heaven. I do believe in Karma however. So I put good energy out there by doing good deeds so good things will come my way. Also its just the right thing to do.

It is called "compassion". Buddhists practices that and so as other religions. Compassion makes us feel good. Even Jesus Himself taught us to do it.

yeah Jesus taught us to do, but how you can make any compassion with out believing and trusting to God that heaven will be applicable to us if we are holy and deserving through our faith

Hi. damned_dle. I will feel that I deserve to go to Heaven. It would be a sign of relief for me. No one is perfect. I just feel that I can make it in life and do the right thing. I will be happy, it will be a great feeling to know that I have lived a life that was pleasing to God.

I don't do good just in fear of punishment or in hopes of a reward; I do good for the sake of good. It troubles me that others might.

Well if there's something to fear, I'd say that it is not God or the devil, but rather our own selfish souls.

i guess i will do that bad things.. but if the God said that, i bet many people will breaking His Rules. and many of us only want to obey the human rules. cause we have to be punished if we breaking it. but sure, that is so unfair if everybody could enter the heaven even they are soooo bad and cruel

If God said, "everyone is going to Heaven", then why would there even be a need for Heaven? Aside of the natural things that inhabit the earth, all things on earth, and in the earth would wind up in Heaven. If Heaven is paradise, living forever more in the presence of God, why would He accept everyone? Murderers, child-molesters, thief's,...so if evil is allowed to live forever more in paradise...then why bother? Someone posted that God created bad people...no, He did NOT create bad people, God didn't create evil either...before comments are made, one should know the biblical facts. God created Lucifer, an archangel...and Lucifer was the pinnacle of God's creation...nothing, nor anything could He have created better. Lucifer, in all his beauty and glory became obsessed with himself, ultimately taking on the attitude that he should have the Heavenly Throne, at the head of all creation...Lucifer then tried to over-throw God, but failed. Lucifer can not defeat God so Lucifer defeats God's creation, His most beloved creation...Mankind. Lucifer attacked mankind, not so much physically, but by turning mankind against God...Lucifer, who is now Satan, is the creator of evil...Lucifer is the originator of lust, greed, jealousy, hate, lies...all of those things became Lucifer's thoughts, and eventually actions which led him to try and over-throw God and His kingdom. Doesn't matter if you believe or not...just because you don't believe doesn't mean it's not real. A lot of people will believe in aliens, the Lochness Monster, Bigfoot..yet, they don't want to believe in God. I'm not trying to convince someone to believe, whatever you believe is your choice...and like every choice we make in life, choices have consequences..be it good or bad..so choose wisely.
• Philippines
16 Feb 11
In our world we have many different beliefs and not everyone knows about Lucifer. God is all knowing and He should have seen the future before creating Lucifer right? But anyway, I don't believe that God created evil (not devil). Evil doesn't really exist, it is just the absence of God. Just like darkness... Darkness does not really exist, it is just the absence of light.

Yes, God is all-knowing, and perhaps He did foresee what Lucifer would eventually become...it's a very long discussion on that subject...but anyway, the one thing God has said over many times, the one gift God gave us...CHOICE! FREEWILL! I WOULD NEVER force my son, nor grand-daughter to love me...THAT is NOT love..that is forced affection...and that is not the kind of love God wants...You, me..we aren't mcuh different than God in that aspect...would YOU want to force someone to love you, or love you freely, because they want to love you? Lucifer had/has freewill as much as you and I...and every other living person. And that last statement you made...Einstein said that. Look, I'm not here to preach to anyone, nor try to convince anyone of anything...I'm just expressing myself, as do others...like you, who asked the question...but it's an interesting question and an interesting conversation.!!

And yes, you and Einstein are right...the word I should have chosen was..Lucifer is the creator of Sin, not evil...Sin is the rebellion of God's Laws. Thank you for pointing that out to me.

Hello my friend there is no "what if" to God, He is alway precise and sure for his action. If you are not deserve going to heaven you will chastise here in earth before you enter heaven. Don't dream of or think it never happened... see you around
• Philippines
16 Feb 11
Well, I don't know if there is no "what if" to God. But what if you are wrong? Anyway, there is a what if to me so I am just curious to ask other people if they will still continue to do good even if it doesn't matter when they die.

I know we all commit sin (sin according to the bible), so if God wouldn't let anyone who had sinned inside His heaven, then there will be a big empty space in heaven! There is only a few percentage in the world who believes in Jesus and fewer more who is following him. Many people have not even heard about Jesus. So how can you expect only people who have faith in Jesus can enter heaven?
@visavis (5934)

I think you cannot believe on me if I can say everybody as ALL are commit sins against God.. Do you? So all of us not deserve to go to heaven if we are not yet holy in the sight of God. Good deeds is not the major way instead faith to Jesus is way to heaven then follows by the good deeds to others

Given this situation, I think that I would be happy since everyone will have the chance to live in paradise. I think that I will give it my best to be nice on anything and to anyone I come in contact with. I see no reason to do unpleasant things to others. If I could help to make the everyday living of people to be enjoyable and fun, I think I will not bother changing that. I think that people who are not so nice will come into a realization of how it would be nicer to get along with everyone. I am really hoping that violence and the like will come into a stop. Living will be better if people just let it be like that. If we could go along and help one another, I think that it will be heaven on earth. I believe that at any given place and time we can make it feel like heaven. We just have to let go of the negative thoughts on our mind and just share our love to everyone.

This would not happen with God. Now if there were some kind of god that let anyone get into heaven, one would have to wonder what this heaven was. Is heaven the infinite space beyond our universe which would make it the bottomless pit which would be hell for those going there? Or would it be the firmament or heavens within our universe somewhere away from others? In our universe, would we be on a planet all to ourselves: sad, lonesome, cold, and scared? If something calling itself a god were to tell me that everyone is going to heaven, I would still be me because it feels gooooooood to help and be nice to others. Yes, my friend. If something calling itself god were to tell me that "Everybody is going to Heaven!", then I would have to ask him to define this Heaven.

If the thing happen one day, i will feel very sad and disappointed. I think this is not fair for us who always want to do the right to meet the "requirement" to go heaven. This is because there are a lot of bad people do the bad things but they are not punished but rewarded. I am not saying that i am very good and the god must allow me to go heaven but at least i am not as bad as the god have to send me to hell.

Agree and i am ready to forgive them but i think they have to take responsibility for what they did first then only they deserve it. Very simple, just likes we broke somebody vast, we have to pay for it. And of course, i agree that we/ God must give a chance to those sincerely willing to change. Anyway, just my opinion.

First of all we very welll know its not gonna happen. And if it happens, it would be the biggest mistakes of god. No one would fear to do wrong deeds, crime rate will boom up and touch skies. Again the law "Survival of the Fittest." will strongly come into action. However, I personally, and many people like me, wont change their way of living. Because its my nature to help and do good deeds and all. It gives me happiness, that I am not doing wrong. However some people avoid wrong deeds due to the fear of God. Such people will change. And commit relatively more crime.

Everyone can still change. But yes, we still need to do good things now so we can feel good while we are still here on Earth.

I consider myself very close and deep with the spiritual and religious side of the world. Though i believe, as do many other people, that everyone has a darker side. This side surpasses the "outside" you. And the "outside you is what u want everyone to c, and how u present urself to others. And ur "darker side may contain fantasies, dark dreams, etc. And i think if this situation were to take place i think i wud ultimately start showing my darker side. And i believe that after a while, everyone would start showing their dark side also. Now do I think showing yur darker side is ok????????? Well... That's a different story

If this was to happen, the life we had now would probably be hell. I do not do good things to prevent myself from hell instead I do it because I know it well benefit those in needs. I well just live how I do now if that were to happen. Since I see no point in why I should change my life.
