I am an Asian in US. I am a stay home mom, don't have a lot to do besides doing housework and stuff; I don't have any friends aroudn here at all... it is so boring, sometimes I wish I have some younger stay home mom as well to be friends with. However, I wonder if American girls like Asians... because I have heard some mean things that Americans talk about Asians... So do you have any friends that is not your race? How did you guys meet?

Hi. mermaidivy. I grew up hanging around people that were of a different race than I. I had a best friend and she was white. She was very nice. We were best friends in the 6th grade. I get along with people of many different colors and creeds. I have many online friends that I have met online, here at myLot. Some people are just prejudice and you should not let their attitude towards you interfere with how you interact with others from another race. You are a very nice person, and I enjoy communicating with you on myLot. If others don't, then don't let their actions bother you at all. Many people are are just ignorant.

Well as you see my profile am from the Caribbean, and i have a lot of friends. People here they dont talk about races here,They love every one the same weather white are black. Am a stay at home mom as well an i have a few friends that will visit and some times will talk on the internet as well.Next thing i think people should cut out the race thing so that every one can come together as one a be good friends with each other.I like people for they are and not their race. I meet some people online sometime when i go to the store and even in my very own community where i live . you should go out some times an meet friends and don't watch what people say about you are your race, because people are gonna say things all the time. but you don't watch what they are saying ,go out and fine new people/friends and have fun my friend. happy mylotting.

I have alot of friends that arent white like myself. I met them through school or through other friends. I went to school here and have lived in the same community/city for a little over 25 years as i am almost 26 but i know alot of people here and so i have met different people of different races and have become friends with them. One of my best friends is not white and she and met get along great as we met in school and talk everyday on facebook while we are at work. I guess its easier that i have friends of different races because i havent moved away like others havent moved away.

That's good to keep the old friends like that. Yes, I have moved to another country so I don't see my old friends anymore unfortunately...

I have many friends of different nationalities and cultures. I am very fortunate to be working for a company in the international trading business. My job requires me to travel often within my own country and also to countries in different parts of the world. I very much enjoy meeting, working, and making friends with people of different countries. I certainly very much value the friendships.

I lived in a mixed neighbourhood. I get along well with an indian friend and some malay friends as well. Because I speak their languages. It is so fun being with other race rather than your own race.

I think so, I think it is interesting to know other people's culture by communicating with each other.

I don't think racial discrimination is a big issue nowadays. Yes, there are some isolated issues involving racial discrimination. Meanwhile, there are still a lot of individuals in different culture who are also friendly. I haven't been in the US but I have a lot of American friends who are also very kind and friendly. Just be positive, I'm sure you will gain some friends, too. I think it's about time you get out of your house and get to know your neighbors. I'm sure you will gain a friend or two in your neighborhood alone.

I have a lot of acquaitances that are from a different race than me. I'm pretty used to, and I don't really see why should I care about their race, as they don't care about mine -or they do but they don't tell me lol-. I don't know about Americans, but you can give it a try, there are still open minded people out there

Yeah I have friends that are a different race than me in fact I have been friends with almost every race. I love to be around people just as long as they are nice and they want to be my friend than of coarse I welcome them in with open arms. People are all different everybody has a different personality and that's what I love, but people who are bullies and are shallow I really don't like those kind of people because they really don't care about other people. It is sad in a way, but life goes on and everybody chooses the way they act. I for me I choose to act kind towards people because being mean was never really my thing. Mean people well they are mean and I don't want to be filled with rage because it's just a waste of time to argue with another person things always tend to escalate like that.

Of course, race really does not matter to me at all. Have you tried meeting people at the playground maybe? Or in other places you go to regularly? I met most of my friends in school or at work, but I guess that does not help in your particular case.

I have many friends who are not my race, color, nationality or even the same religion. I don't believe in prejudice, we are all equals because we're all human. I met a lot of them through church, school, nursing jobs I did, and other places along the way. I know it's hard to meet people, but in a way, you have to get out and about in order to meet them. I don't know how young your kids are, but how about taking them to the story hour at the library? You'll meet lots of other young mothers, and once they get to know you a friendship might develop along the way. There's also different Mom's clubs on the internet. You can meet other young mothers, and make friendships along the way. I met many a good friend (some going back almost 10 years now) from being in groups like that. We are close, and some of them even live not too far away, so get togethers aren't impossible!

Hi Mermaidivy, I have lots of friends that arent the same race as myself. In fact I dont really think of race when I meet people. My best friend is Columbian. She has been for 17 years. I met her at a party and we actually were fighting over a guy! LOL but pretty much as soon as we met and had that blow out we decided that fighting over a guy was dumb and became best friends. I had her as my maid of honor in my wedding and everything. I have friends of many races and types of people. It is hard for anyone to make friends when they grow up. It seems like everyone is unapproachable but I bet they arent. I would try to find someone with similarities in interest at a park, coffee shop or something like that.

We've got a lot of friends that are of other race - our country itself already consists of 3 main races - Malay, Chinese & Indian plus it's just a melting pot from where we come from. We have so many tribes of the native aborigines especially those from East Malaysia. There are also a lot of foreign workers here like Indonesians, Philippinos, Vietnamese, etc. We also know a lot of people from different nationalities through church as well. We normally have this conference during mid-year, it's like a homecoming reunion thingy where we have 30 over nations at that spot at one time which is just awesome!~

Hiya mermaid, Have People that I know but we are not proper Friends they are not English either most of them are Spanish People and a few others from other Countries like Ecuador, Peru, Chile. But not many. You can get to feel isolated. Afraid the thing you have to do is go out and see sights and see People all you can. Go to the Shops and gradually make yourself well known in the Shops where you go and that builds up from there. Women that go there to the Shops will eventually get used to seeing you there and might make conversation. It is very hard sometimes I know. I am living in an area where the People are changing continually so I have to make the best of what I have got. My real best Friends are all in England really and I have not seen them for many years now. There are other English People here but they all have separate lives and often they will not entertain friendships like before. You can try it like that. Of course you have your own ideas of how to go about it as well. Hope you start getting out and about more soon then and you find some great future Friends hereĀ“s to that.

I am very diverse, as I have a great many friends of all races. None of my friends look at races when it comes to friending one another. I have so many it would be hard to pinpoint exactly where we all met. Some places would be school, my neighborhood, through friends and online etc..

yes..i do have friends that arnt my race/that are from different countrys/with different cultures&religion and everything like that....,,. i think people would be really mean and picky if the only wanted friends who were just their race... or ec., i dont judge people by their color/race/nationality/culture or anything at all like that. although I do judge them by their personality and what type of person they are, because i wouldnt want to associated with bad gang people...
