Make a travel wish list

Ten years ago I sat down and made a travel wish for the future. At that time I was teaching Year 2 at a primary school in a village. My contract was about to come to an end so I thought I would go off on a long trip somewhere. I wanted to book a return flight to New Zealand that allowed many stopovers on the way there and back. My travel wish looked like this then: 1. New Zealand 2. Japan 3. Belize 4. Guatemala 5. South Africa 6. Canada 7. Portugal 8. Romania 9. Bulgaria 10. Iceland 11. India 12. China 13. Russia 14. Thailand 15. The Seychelles Since then I have crossed off some countries and added more places as I became interested in going there. So in 2001 I went to the USA, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and New Zealand. I began 2002 in New Zealand and also visited Samoa. In 2003 I went to Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia. I had New Year's Eve in Turkey. Then in 2004 I went to Belgium and the Seychelles. Funnily enough in 2005 I went to the Maldives. In 2006 went to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala plus Bulgaria and Romania. Then in 2007 my disabled son was born. I took him to Portugal in 2007. Then in 2008 I took him to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In 2009 I was pregnant with my daughter and I took my disabled son to South Africa. Then in 2010 the three of us went to Canada. We celebrated my daughter's birthday in Victoria and my birthday in Vancouver. This year the three of us went to Colombia. So you can see I have been able to visit some of the countries on my 2001 travel wish list. If you wrote a travel wish list which countries or destinations would be on it?

Hi Maxine, My interests change according to my health posibilities and the money I can get. I still want to go to Machu Picchu but it´s not my priority for the moment as I have some health issues. I am getting interested in the north of Brasil (Baia), Costa Rica, Canada (only if I can get the money to invite a couple of fairly poor canadian friends. I´d love to visit again the south of Spain and visit Greece and Turkey. And talking to mylotters has developed in me a hunger to visit India some day.

Hi my friend Marguicha, I am sorry that you are suffering from some health issues. Yes, India does sound lovely from many of our Indian friends on My Lot. I hope that you will be able to visit Baia in the north of Brazil. I have seen photos of Costa Rica and it looks spectacular. It is wonderful that you want to come back over to Spain and Greece. If your on-line earnings improve you could travel to Canada and met up with your Canadian friends. Hugs.

I´m going this March for 2 weeks to Aruba and I hope the climate and peace will help me. I have had more stress last year than I care for, starting with the February earthquake and my surgery in March (with another bid earthquake while I was at the hospital full of needles). My daughter has gone to Baia in Summer at the time of the carnaval and I like it better that Rio´s even though it is not as elegant. But she says even the babies dance there. And I´d love to see some wild life in Costa Rica. WE will see. Hugs!!!

I have been to a LOT of places so many of the places from 10 years ago that would not even have crossed my mind are already crossed off... I would like to spend more time in my own country (USA). There is so much to see and do and most of my travels have been abroad that I feel like I am missing out on my own culture. I would also like to see Eastern Europe (Western is already scratched off) and the Orient. It's such a long time getting there and getting back that it has to be planned for the future... no quickie trip to Australia for sure. Next on the list is Alaska and that is going to be in September... pretty psyched about that... and another will be crossed off at the same time as the wife and I will be spending time in Vancouver. Great question as always!!! Zelo

I've been to Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. So those are not on my list, but the last two would have been if I hadn't already visited. On my list now would be: Austria, Canada, Ireland, Walkes, Tasmania, the Philippines, Switzerland, the Virgin Islands, Bahamas, and Spain.

It is impossible for many persons to travel so many countries. It requires lots of money which you have. In your list I want to add South Pole. Do you want to travel there?

I've already been to the top places I want to visit. I've been to London, Brighton, and this summer I should be going to Dublin. I would pretty much visit anywhere in the future.

I would like to go to Ireland. I'd like to listen to Gaelic singing. I'd like to buy a sweater and maybe even a female kilt. Since I'm into carving, I'd like to see if they have any carving museums. I'd like to go to Korea. I'd like to see where my husband served. Like to see any carvings here, too. I'd like to go around the world with carving. Norway is supposed to have some pretty awesome carving. I'd like to go back to Alaska, but see more of the mainland than just Juneau. I've seen the islands leading up to Alaska and Juneau, then our ship turned around. I'd like to go to France, but this time, I'd like to see the countryside and check out cheese making regions.

My travel wish list is huge too but, I am thinking some places are going to take me years to get to visit even if I saved hard and with my travel discounts! You're very lucky to be able to afford to visit all these places!

You really have done a lot of travelling, I envy you so much. Ok, my short list of places I've never been to, but I want to visit: 1. Cuba 2. Russia 3. Colombia 4. Chile 5. Sweden And the short list of places I've been to, but I want to return: 1. France 2. Poland 3. The Czech Republic (I'm going to Prague in March, I can't wait! Yay!) 4. Spain 5. Turkey There's also Italy somewhere on this list, but it's a love-hate relationship (love the places, the attractions, the museums, the ruins, the food, the coffee - but somehow it keeps turning into a bad experience for me).

This is a great idea! I'd like to go to (alphabetically): China, Croatia, Finland, India, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, Ukraine ... From the (few) countries I've already visited, I'd like to go back to England and Germany, maybe France and Austria too.
