I hate it when the neighbor's goats get loose.

My neighbor's goats get loose every now and then. It is awful when that happens.I will hear banging on the house or under the house and find that it is the goats. They chew on everything outside too. I slap my hands at them until they get to their own yard but it is upsetting because of the damage that they can do before I know they are out there. When they get loose it is when the neighbors aren't home. Not much longer after I get them to go to there yard here they come back again.

So, have you ever made this comment to your neighbors, and are the goats still doing this? This would be quite annoying and something I would hate to have to put up with all the time. Especially if they are eating things you are wanting to look nice, or vegetables from the garden etc. Hope that things have gotten better with this.

yes, we have told that it happens. They do try to keep them in. They have them fenced in but they get loose. It can be a long time before of them not getting loose then a long time of them getting loose. It hasn't happened in a while but that has happened before. Hopefully it doesn't happen anymore because they can cause so much damage. They go under the house even and bang around, bang on the house, eat my plants. It is a real mess when it does happen. Thank you for reading and commenting my discussion!

I think that would be very frustrating. Is your yard fenced and is theirs? I wonder if there is a substance that can be put at the property line that would repel them. Maybe something like pepper or something that they don't like the smell or taste of. I did a search and found some suggestions. I am including the link because I don't know if it will work: http://www.homesteadingtoday.com/archive/index.php/t-89488.html I thought I could find more, but most didn't seem related. You might try cayenne pepper around the property line though or something. Good luck with that.
