With all the talk of what to cut from the budget... what are areas that should be protected either on expenditures taht should not be touched and/or taxes/fees taht should not be changed. Your call, folks...

I wouldn't cut VA Health care. Those people paid into it with their lives. That's pretty much all I can think of.

Umm what shouldn't be cut? Local Military Bases Leave one Joint Military Base in Asia (Japan) Leave One in Europe (Germany or UK) Research in Robotics NASA that's what I wouldn't take some cuts from.

In my opinion, every department, every division, every person that is funded by tax payer money should be audited and cut.

NONE! No sacred cows, no special interest groups, no poster children left behind. All government departments and agencies should be cut by 10%. Then, all departments and agencies should be audited, and further cuts should be made based on the outcome. Saying that something can't be touched implies that there is no chance of any kind of waste, fraud or fat there. We can't make the kind of cuts necessary to get the budget back in line if we keep defending our own "pet" project... pointing fingers at others.
