My cousin emailed me with it. She's on a very limited budget but her dog needed a few things and she found dog supplies dot com. I'm a cheapskate, as some of you may know. I wanted a Kong for Gus and Cookie but at $20, I hadn't bought one. I found Kongs there for over 50% off. They have lots of toys, leashes and other fun stuff for dogs.
Gus and Cookie love their Kongs, they stay busy for hours with them. I stuff them with bread on the bottom to seal it up, yogurt, green beans, dog food, Cheerios, bits of apple and other stuff. Then I freeze it. Kongs are so much fun for them and Gus gets a great workout throwing it around with his feet to dislodge the contents!
Have you found any bargains lately for your dogs? Any places you'd like to share where we can save money and still spoil our furbabies?

Thanks for posting this link. I have forwarded it to all my dog lover friends. The prices are really good. Thanks again!

Thank you for giving them the publicity! I ordered on Thursday and it arrived on Monday--it's a new company that's really working to build itself up. Good service and good merchandise at great prices.

I have two Shelties and they could care less about toys. I have a stack of them I'm about ready to give away to the shelter. Now food and "let's go" they love. I'll look in to the Kong...they might get in to it, as long as there's food in it. I don't have any places I shop at that I'd say I save money. If I'm really looking for something, I usually just start searching places online until I find what I want and it's inexpensive. I do alot of shopping at Smith and Fosters, but I can't say it's inexpensive, but I usually find what I'm looking for.

I don't think Shelties have personality issues like Gus, a Boston Terrier. BTs like to chew and need to keep busy. The Kong is perfect for him. Do they like to play tug? The unstuffed toys would be perfect for them. They are flat but sturdy and perfect for a game of tug and cost a lot less at this store than in others.

You're right...my Shelties are nothing like my Mom's terrier, Shikari. Shikari will try and try to get my dogs to play tug with her toys and they just turn their heads. I never have gotten them to play tug. When they were puppies, they may have retrieved balls, but now that they're older, not even that. And they're not chewers, really. They're not crazy about chewing on rawhide/bone. They'll carry them out on the back porch and there they'll sit. Gus sounds like a ball of energy!

I want to say I had gotten a Kong somewhere for our dog years ago but I didn't spend pet store price on it. Perhps I got it at some outlet or dollar store. Eitherway he was amused with it for a short amount of time. My Dog is only consumed by his stomach and doing his "business". I prefer not to have my kitchen ransacked all day long. The only deals I find are tennis balls once in a while at a rummage or at the dollar store. I dunno we really don't buy him toys because he chews them up in two shakes.

Gus is hard on toys, too. Boston Terriers are a mix of bull terriers and his jaw strength is fearsome!

Dogs need to chew and you can give them some old leather to chew in if you have any, might keep them from the power cords! In the bad old days when I was very poor, I used to make dog treats from flour, bacon grease, leftover vegetables (even lettuce) and anything else I had. I'd mix it up and bake it in little balls and my dog loved them!

I thought about Coco when I saw that unstuffed toy that's like the Crazy Critter toy I saw on TV. It's too small for Gus but would be just right for Coco!

Hiya dragon,
Got me there until I looked up what a Kong was for Dogs and I was just watching this very funny Video of a couple of Dogs batting the Kong around the Floor in their Living Room I think it is trying to get what is inside. Looks like it could be Dog Biscuits. This is the Kong Wobbler I was watching being kicked around by these Dogs. What fun I did not think that they had such things.
Never seen them in my life before not for Dogs anyway. Great idea to keep them busy instead of chewing unwanted things like Slippers or Shoes.
I´ve seen loads of Wobbly Toys for Children example "The Weeblie Womblies of Wimbledon Common" which came out ages ago. Enjoyed watching the antics of these two Dogs anyhow.

You reminded me of toys they put out when my boys were little--"Weebles wobble but they don't fall down"!
Kongs are great for dogs. And yes, they ar fun for them and keep them busy for awhile. Gus loves his and Cookie is beginning to get into it, too. Kong creators guarantee they can't be destroyed.

Hiya dragon,
That´s right it´s just that I bought a box of them while I was living here and they had a slightly different name to them as well. But they were the Weebles anyway and my eldest Son used to throw them against the Wall so they did not last too long.
I had such fun watching those two Dogs trying their hardest to get the Food out of the Kongs. They were funny to watch.
Let´s hope they are unbreakable too.

Good morning, dragon...NO, I have NOT found any bargain sites here in Canada, all I find on the "net" are from the U.S., and they will either NOT ship to Canada, OR the shipping/freight price prohibitive...(sorta like e-Bay)! And pardon my ignorance, I do not/never have heard of a Kong! I have, yet not found a toy, that my JRT "Brui" doesn't think looks best, unless in pieces...even tho' just 43 pounds, his strength is phenomenal! I daren't give him things like tennis balls, etc., as I so fear him ingesting the toxins! Would truly appreciate you enlightening me about Kongs! Thank you!

Kongs are guaranteed indestructible--if your dog destroys them they'll refund your money. Gus is rough on toys but he's never destroyed a Kong so they are really, really tough! They are expensive, though...a large one Gus' size is $20 and I got it for $7.
I found that I have to make Gus' toys myself. I bought some tough material and sewed a squeaker in, dogs love squeakers for some reason. It lasts for about two weeks, 13 days longer than a store bought toy.
