In Chinese's belief, the number of fishes inside an aquarium and the location we place our aquarium at our home will affect our daily luck. By keeping the right breed and quantities of fish in an aquarium at a right location within our home, our daily luck and life can be greatly improved. I normally keep 7 number or 9 number of gold fishes in my aquarium. I believe in it every much. It is related to the ancient Chinese system of aesthetic named "Feng Shui" What about you belief?

What is the ideal number of fish? In our old house I used to have a fish tank on top of our bench top in the kitchen. I started of with goldfish but then went onto guppies... I loved seeing them everyday, it was calming and added a different atmosphere. We are currently building our new house and I can't wait to get a larger aquarium to enjoy! That's why your discussion got me interested.... It would be nice to bring a bit of luck into the house... I don't know much about feng shui, but it sounds very interesting.....

I did check the different of "feng shui" books with different authors, their teaching were different too. Generally, we place any ODD number of fishes in our aquarium. In my medium size of aquarium, I placed 7 or 9 fishes. The flowing of the water from the water filter or the water pump should face inside the house. This is believed to bring the prosperous in.

I do not have an aquarium, but my niece and sister do. I have had goldfish in the past. Where is the best place to have them according to feng shui? Are odd numbers the best? what about other kinds of fish?

For sharing with you, do not keep those fierce fishes in our aquarium. The fierce type can spoil our luck. Another thing I just want to highlight that your water pump should flow the water towards your home and not outside your home. By doing so, it can keep your prosperous in all the while. ha! ha! ha! This is what I read in certain books. You should use you own judgment to decide if you believe it or not. Never believe something blindly.

This is the Chinese culture. We are proud of this culture. ha! ha! ha! When something odd happens to someone by coincident or not, then he or she would start believing in it. Later, it will become popular in the society. I am sure such belief will help us to improve our daily life and luck. However, a fruitful achievement in our life is still depending to our hard work and knowledge.

In the Philippines, Feng Shui or Chinese geomancy, is also practiced by a lot of people and I do not think there is anything wrong if that would make them feel well or lucky. I own several aquariums too in our house, and my wife insists that we keep this number of fishes and colors from a book she read, thats just fine with me and I let her do as she pleases as long as we clean it together. For me I already feel lucky as well as happy when I wake up and see my fishes come to greet me as if rising from the bottom to the top of the water to ask for fish food

Great to hear that. I read an article about the aquarium and our daily temper. By view our fishes in our aquarium daily can improve our mood and temper. At the same time, those with high blood pressure can be improved too. I am not sure it is true or not. But it is good to try it since we have the hobby to keep fishes in an aquarium at our home.
