Today, the Wisconsin State Senate continued the legislative business of the state. The first order of business? A bill that requires photo ID when voting.
The Fugitive 14 participated in the debates by telephone, but since Wisconsin law requires them to be on the floor to vote.. well... they didn't get to.

That's a good consequence of their cowardice--bills that need to be passed get passed! I don't see why all states don't ask for ID. You should prove you're a citizen in order to vote.

Holy crap, lol, talk about opportunity! I hope they pass a shytte load of legislation while the opposition is gone. while they are there, call them and tell them to pass a resolution calling for a constitutional convention. My guys already have a proposal in committee.
I am a bit confused though. If they have to be there by law for the senate to vote on the union bill, why do they not have to be there for votes on other legislation?

That's what happens when you runaway. You don't get to debate and you lose your power to represent your constituents. So, the ones who really lost here were the voters that elected them into office.

I know that a lot of people think that this is a bad thing. They say that it discriminates against the poor. However, how do you cash your welfare check without an id?
Here in Fl. we have to have a picture Id. to vote and I like the idea. We have so many snowbirds and transients and illegals that I think everyone should have a picture Id.
