Is anybody else creeped out, the way Tyler looks at the 15 year old girls?

I don't like the way Tyler looks at the underage girls in the competition. I think even Lopez was disturbed, because at one point she kept saying "this girl is fifteen....fifteen!!" after the girl egged Tyler on to sing with her. Yeechh. Please, American Idol, put a leash on this 62 year old rocker!

I agree with you, but i feel he is just so funny when he does this. I love the way he is so into the contestants and how he is singing with them as well. He gets into the whole surrounding of American Idol and he really is going to be a good judge. He has such a great background and brings so much to the show. Of course he is a famous singer and knows alot about singing and can help contestants as well as bring them some confidence in it all as well.

He's just a very eccentric person, I would take into account the looks of the girls and not the age. American teens look so much older than just about anywhere else in the world.

There are two things that annoy me about Steven Tyler. One is the way he tries to sing along with some of the contestants (please, Steve, it's not about you) and the other is the lecherous way he looks at some of the girls. As you mentioned, many of these girls are just teenagers, but even those who aren't are still far too young for him. I think the producers of the show ought to warn him about his behavior because if one of his favorites were to win, there might be accusations that he gave them more leeway than the others. At least one of the girls that he lobbied to get to Hollywood has already been cut because she wasn't that good. He should watch his objectivity, it's going to come into question at some point.

Yeah, that's what Paula Abdul did on one season I remember. I read something about this guy on on one of the forums, and I hope it isn't true. They said back in the 70's he legally adopted a 14 year old girl, and then later on had her get an abortion(two years later) so you know what he was doing to her. He tossed her out like a sack of garbage because she hadn't wanted to get the abortion. Hey, I believe in giving people second chances, because sometimes people can change their behavior. But not pedophilia! And what is wrong with parents who hand their children over to these creeps? Yeah, I don't like the sing along either. Maybe J-Lo will brain Tyler with one of her Grammy statues if he keeps ogling the youngsters, lol!

Yeah, that is pretty creepy. Grownups of any age should not be looking longingly at any one 15 years old. In my opinion 18 year old's are children still and nobody over 23 should be lusting after them. After all an 18 year old was just a 17 year old a few months ago. At least 18 is legal though so it is not that gross, but a 15 year old is a child. My daughter is almost 15 and I better not catch any creepy older guys checking her out.

I don't watch American Idol. I'm a musician/singer and I've tried to watch on occasion but some people just can't carry a tune in a tin bucket and want to enter into a singing competition! I can't take the "noise". People who take on the judging of such things have to put on their Public appearance/attitude. Steven Tyler puts forth that image and has it so practiced that he makes it appear that he is sincere in what he's saying. The flirty persona is probably not intended as a "meet be backstage later" come on, but more of a calming affect on the participant. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/13/arts/television/13idol.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1

I know, most people think that some old geezer looking at a young girl is pretty creepy. Steven Tyler has a beautiful daughter that's been in some movies...I don't think I've ever heard anything about him messing with her. And with all the women ready, willing and able to throw themselves at his feet, I don't think Steven Tyler would stoop to mess with little girls. If nothing else, the little girls in this competition are going to go home and tell all their friends that OMG Steven Tyler sang with them, or smiled at them or said this or that. What Steven Tyler does is all just part of the public persona....and I would imagine that SOME of it is even staged.

I feel the same way but as long as he doesn't touch then there nothing illegal going on. The older women on the show get the same response I think with a Rock Star mentality he can't help but to love women. At 62 I hope a 15 year old wouldn't be interested and I hope in his right mind he doesn't persue a minor. It is very creepy but they gave him the job and until they decide to fire him he will continue to enjoy envisioning young women as grown women (I hope! lol )

He does look at them in the weirdest way but I think he has no bad intentions or some sort. I think that it is just the way he looks at people. Whenever he hears someone sings so beautifully, he closes his eyes and feels like as if he is hypnotized. I think that he has just so much passion for music. On the other hand, most young girls shows appreciation to Tyler and I think that he is just returning the favor.
