Where do they come from? What causes them? Why are they so painful? Are they cureable?

Shingles are dormant chicken pox. Shingles usually come out decades later. They are painful. They will go away.

Hi Professor, They usually come about in an older person but they can also come out in a younger person who had only a very mild case of the chicken pox as a child. My daughter got them when she was about 8. She had chicken pox when she was about 3 and got only a couple of spots and we thought we were lucky. What we didn't know is that she was a perfect candidate for the Shingles. Aveeno baths help.
