In this new and fast world every thing has changed and women are up to it. Mainly education has given courage and boldness to face any situation. equal rights should be given or else it will go their way automatically.

Yes absolutely...you ahve put this ina beautiful way.I am also in your side regarding giving equal rights to women but it cannot be given everywhere as, take for example sports and in coming day's if women are alowed to compete with men, the compition itself maynot attract people coz of the men , who has more stamina than the women and women cannot compete with men in some sports atleats...like this, some more things are there where women cannot make amatch to men,,,isn't it...otherthan this i am also in favor of equal rights to women......

There is no doubt that equal wrights should be given to women. Why do we have a male dominated society.Women are not behind in any field nowadays and it is high time that they got their due.

I know some women who are better than some men at so-called mens sports.

Quite frankly, I'm shocked that this is even a question. Wow. And there are people saying women should NOT have equal rights? Helllllllllloooooo? I guess this is cultural. I guess I am spoiled living where and when I live. Perhaps I did not just want to party all the time by incarnating in the U.S. at this time, but was interested in enjoying my life and contributing to the world without being considered a second class citizen. I, too, like how someone on here responded that women will become equal whether or not it is "given" to them--technology is making that happen. Interesting. Honestly, I'm really just shocked. :o (That's me, being shocked.) This was not just put up to get people riled and make a lot of responses? I mean, I imagine it is working. But yikes. Ok, still shocked. :o What an education myLot is! Hey wait, do I even have a right to be here?

Upon more thought, it is pretty naive of me not to realize this is an issue in other parts of the world, and even to some extent in the U.S. I guess I was just surprised at the question and from the source.

He Terry...comeon yaar....cool it....hope i didn't hurt you by putting up this question here..i don't know what hurt you in seeing this question and also why you get shocked by seeing it from this source....i really don't get it... Anyhow, as you also know this is an issue in all parts of the world and for your kind info, i am in support of equal rights to women....but mind you, it cannot be implied 100%...i mean, it cannot be implied everywhere...for example, if women are allowed to compete with men in some sports , which require more stamina, then uitwould look like one sided game....and even people will strt losing interest...even you will agree for this...so, some exceptions like this are there...but, other than this, i am in favor of giving erqual rights to women and Terry, i am really sorry if you are hurt by seeing me posting this.....

Yes, but I think "fair" rights would be a better word because "equal" wouldn't necessarily be fair. I think there are actually a lot of situations where women do have more rights than men but that's not necessarily unfair.

I agree to giving equal rights to everyone, but it doesn't work if you push it too much because men get pushed out to make room for women because women might complain about equal rights, it also happens with immigrants, people are so worried about giving them equal rights that the natives are being trodden on and not being given equal rights, if equal rights were always equal then it's good, but they aren't.

Hm...interesting...you have put some more valid points here and this is true also...even i told you in the begining itself, even though i am in favor of wmen's right, it cannot be applied everywhere, there should be some restrictions while appliying into some sports and here you also made some more points...and thanks for that....

Yes, I don't see ANY reason why a woman wouldn't get the same rights as I would. It doesn't make much sense, that they haven't in most civilizations.

We already have equal rights, in this country anyway. We do need to recognise the differences between males and females, but those differences don't make anyone more or less worthy of rights.
