Last Sunday, as i slowed down to take a turn in a busy road someone had hit me from the back and had ravaged the rear bumper of my car. He was slowly backed up and was pulling away when i asked him to stop. In a rage he flung his door open and got down yelling at me "What do you mean stop?!" in a very disrespectful manner even though i addressed him as 'sir'. He took the liberty of calling me names only because i was smaller than him. I had argued at him that its his mistake as he hit me from behind. I had also put on the indicator and was observing him in the rear view mirror cautioning myself 'dont brake hard, they might hid you from behind' he pulled aside into the next lane as i slowed down but had again returned to the lane behind me as i slowed further. apparently he didn't see my indicator. On top he further argued 'you have to pay for the damage of my car'. Even though it was all his fault i had to move off as i didn't want to make a scene and i was afraid that he would manhandle me in front of everyone. It just boils my blood that he got away with such a huge damage and on top insulted and called me names. I really wished i had hit him and mauled his face right there!! Damn!

Hi. SunnyBunny. I can not believe this man! How can he hit your car and then become so angry at something that he has caused in the first place??? He has too much of nerve! He is only angry because he know what he has done wrong and he knows that he is at fault. He should have been paying attention while he was driving on the road. I would make sure that I tell the police that he was at fault. They will be able to tell that he hit you because of how damaged that your rear bumper looked. He can't get out of lying about this then!

Here, if someone rear ends another person, they are automatically at fault, not the driver who got hit. Same thing goes for someone who reverses into a car behind them. Sad thing is in that case, the one who was behind the other car is still considered to be at fault. If I were you, I would have gotten his insurance information and all of the vehicle information and reported it to the police and your insurance company. He would be forced to pay for your damages, and his insurance premiums would increase. I think that would teach him not to do foolish things like that ever again.

Pardon me but its not really the damage to my vehicle that is bothering me but its that rude attitude of that reckless driver who had put me at fault just because i was smaller in age than him. "I don't think a white sedan and a white shirt would make you a gentleman." which was invariably proved in his case. I did get his license plant number and one of my friend's father said he'll look into the matter.
