In addition to my BSNL mobile SIM; I had one Reliance smart SIM card, but there was no signal in my home, if I want to talk I have to go out to the street, I made several complaints, and none helped. After introduction of portability of cell phone number, I got it changed to Air Tel, means number remains same, but service provider is changed from Reliance to AirTel. I had to spend Rs20.00 only.
But my balance money in that SIM is forfeited. Anyway it is ok, Air Tel signal is good.
[b]Does your place have this portability facility?

Recently i have changed from Reliance GSM to Airtel.
Because Airtel is better in signal receiving.
Reliance is very very bad in signal reception.
So i preferred the Airtel only.
Because of thes Number Portability Service Airtel have benefits and reliance have losses.

hello dada,
Here in my country we can not port in port out our mobile or landline number.
All we have to do is buy a new sim card to other network provider in order to have their services.
We have 2 big companies here that are popular and is having great competition with it's services and plan offered (mobile handset and service)
Same thing with internet connection.
Have a great day dada

We've had number portibility for a long time, but that is a feature that I have never used. I've had the same cellular phone through the same company for the last 14 years. In our home we have two different cell phones, one is my phone that is on a contract and the other phone is my husband's cell phone which is a pay as you go phone. He has only had a cell phone for about the last five years and only got it then because it was when I was pregnant with our son and he wanted to be easier to reach in case something happened.
