why is it that those people who have difficult jobs such as construction workers receive very small amount of salary, or lets just say not right salary for their job... but those rich people who continues to work in an air conditioned office reading a pile of papers, making simple study about this country (Philippines) and waiting for their salary to come, receives so much for their simple job... can we consider that as injustice??? of the Philippine government just dont see this situation?

Hi Tammy, actually those in the office have more responsibility than those working under the hot sun. Those working under the hot sun take instruction. They do not have to worry whether the engineers got the calculation right or not, they just have to report to work everyday, and then do whatever assigned to them, after that, they go home and sleep. Those in the office are different. They have to make sure everything goes according to schedule, and the architectural plan meets the requirement. Remember the shocking earthquake in China a few years ago? The buildings collapse, and people die. Who bears the responsibility? Those who work in the office! Not the construction workers. That is why they are paid more, since they have to shoulder more responsibilites, and they have to use brains

Sadly, there will always be some injustice in the world. As a Christian, I believe this will end when Jesus Christ returns to earth to reign. Certainly it's true that a good deal of professional people are paid a lot of money, and in many cases this is justified, because they are doing a specialised service for which they have been carefully trained over time. But that does not mean that blue collar people should be poorly paid; far from it; because they too provide a very specialised service; thank goodness in the UK, this truth has been recognised. Although I can't speak for other countries. With regard to the professions: Traditionally in the UK, ( not that I'm not an expert) what are known as grammar schools (as opposed to public schools, which are the private schools) have existed in order that people from more humble backgrounds could through a first-rate education eventually ascend to the highest levels of society. And there have been leaders of our nation who enjoyed grammar school educations. I think this was a good move. I also believe it was a good move when working people started to be valued by society and consequently paid well, situation as exists in the UK. But sadly, real poverty still exists, has always existed, and will always exist all throughout the world. Due to the flawed nature of our world. But as I say, one day, all that will cease.

Construction workers use their body to work, while those executives use their brains. Brain is consider more expensive than the body, I guess. But in some cases, if you are working with both and brain, you will get more payment.

It does seem unfair. It is a measure of brains against brawns. To put it bluntly, the one who are supposed sitting in the aircon rooms are the ones coming up with ideas so that jobs are created for the ones like us out in the sun. If they don't come up with ideas, where do we get the jobs? So we need to protect these special breeds at the expense of the majority. It is easier for the man in the air-con to go to the gym, work out and build muscles compared to the man on the street to acquire the so-called knowledge of the boardroom. At least that is how I view it. What do you think?

It is because of their social standing. Those people in high-rise buildings wearing suits had a high degree of education while those who have low-ptofiled jobs are those unfortunate not to have a college degree or any education at all. But this dismal situation can be applied in any work areas and even in those who have college diplomas. There are people who really work hard yet were not able to gain success. And yet there those who enjoy the luxury and convenience without any effort. I remember the levels of society that we have during our ancestor's time. There was the royalty or upper class (the rich ones), the middle class, and the slaves. And this is still evident in this country.

There is heirarchy of power in this country. If people wants to have this power it must mean that they need a certain degree of influence to do so. For us teachers, we may be able to do so and be in the office only with an extent of control IF we work hard for it. It's a long way getting there.

Because it's the quality of job which matter not quantity ... If you would think like this then injustice has been started from everybody's birth ..so don't worry dear ...just have some positive thinking and look aroung good things... Thanks...

Most people who are laborers don't recieve alot of money for it because of the possible turnover. If these laborer's went to school and learned how to do the job of the rich folks then they could be in those air conditioned rooms if they tried hard enough. SOme have the enthusiasm and entelligence for this sort of thing and others don't. And just to note here**construction workers have to be pretty smart, have a good knowledge of mathmatics.** It is not injustice. It is partially the American way and the outcome of hard work. Most rich people, if you read their bios, did a fair amount of hard work to get themselves there. Not alot, some more than others. And many have a dream and are pushed to make that dream come true.

it because corruption , and slave act that happen until now same here at Indonesia "desk" people can help gov to make fake latter , fake stamp , fake id etc etc. but then "filed" people can,t do that , rich people think that , "filed" work for money , and money work for rich and because graduation letter . to earn education we have to spend so much money , if we can,t pay we can,t gt better job , rich people can be a master just one single payment , if they can bribe , but what about low economic class? that,s why unfair happen it,s happen all around the world but for the western this situation is not so GAP (just my thought)

i don't think executives have easy jobs. some of them use their brains to study the company or the organization's situation. it is not always easy to make decisions that would involve or affect a great deal of people. though in some countries like Japan, the blue collar jobs are paid bigger, i think the comparison should not be made between the white collar and blue collar jobs. there is a big difference; one involves mental skills and ability and the other, physical.

A long time ago i've ever thought so,why people who work hard everyday, sweated everyday but low salary and why people who just sit in comfort room with high salary. After for long time i found the answer that people who work hard sweated everyday paid for their labor not their skill and education, without thinking about anything, then people who worked with high salary paid for their skill, education, responsibilities for the job.

hello tammy! it would seem unfair, if we are to gauge it to hard labor being difficult and daunting since you have to use force and exposed yourself to the hot sun. However, life does not work that way. You might think those people who are sitting inside airconditioned rooms have much easier jobs compared to those who are toiling under the heat of the sun, it is not so. Using your brains, if you have one, is a lot difficult that using your physical strength to accomplish something. anyway, we can't all be white collar job workers. Somehow, someone should do the dirty work because just imagine the world if all of us sits in the office doing the planning and the managing? who would work and labor? we all have our own functions to do, and it does not make it lesser if we are working out in the sun or inside a cool room. It's what we contribute to the whole accomplish of an organization that counts.

nOt only in Phillipines, I am sure it would be seen in many other countries. People who work in AC offices reach there after studying, getting academic qualification.Normally, physical work is paid relatively less because it is termed ;unskilled' labour. FOr example, if it is lifting some heavy weights of cement and sand , you do not need to study, pass an exam and then enter the job.You need physical strength. THere is not much brain work here.[compared to office jobs]. THough thsi would be difficult, many people find it more difficult to study and qualify. The percentage of educated versus uneducated may be a determining factor.

It seems a job that is easy to learn to do will pay less... It seems a job where more people are qualified to do will pay less ... What do you think ?

If it's any consolation, everybody has a role to play in this world. Generally in this world, it's always the people with money, ideas and creativity that rule the world, the rest just make it happen for the above three categories. These three categories of people are what I call visionaries. They dream and always challenge themselves and others with questions like why? what? when? and how? And then we get the realists, who like to work with their hands. They take pride in taking somebody's vision and makeing it a reality. Why do they get paid less? Simple, they're just lower in the food chain since the project wasn't theirs in the first place. Chill mate, there's always a rainbow in every rainy sky. So look for it and I'm sure you'll find it. Cheers!

It does seem to appear that way, but I think white collar workers are paid a premium also for their intellectual skills. People are hired to see the bigger picture and they are paid more for doing so. It's like the foreman of a construction unit. He's given a higher salary than the other workers but he does less manual labor but he has a bigger responsibility of seeing to it that construction is on schedule.

So true friend as many have to sweat hard and work really hard for the money they make. Life is unfair at times. Some office workers although not really sweating to the bone, did earn their white collar position because they earned their difficult education. Although some do not and still succeed with higher salaries. Such an unbalanced world and I find that more and more hardworking employees is more common today.
