What should I do now? My PayPal account is a verified account already but when I tried to transfer money recently, my account was put into limited status because it was "compromise". Now it is asking me to provide a new credit card number but sad to say, I don't have one anymore. Any suggestions on how I can lift the limited status of my account?

Have you a bank account ? You can verify your PayPal with your account number and it is exactly the same -- It is why I did -- and more secure for you : they have an obligation to put the money in your account after six months if the problem is not solved with them. If your account is limited and you have no possibility to withdraw your money, you risk to lose all your balance.

I already verified it using my bank account, but still, it is asking for a new credit card number

It is not an obligation. Write a contact mail to explain what you are saying here : you have no more credit card and your account will be now linked only to your bank account. They cannot limit your account because you have not a credit card if you have verified your bank account ! All they can do is to ask you to prove them that it is your bank account : faxing a copy of your last bank statement and an ID is enough.

did you verified your account using VCC ?..if not,the other option for you is now to attach the bank to remove the limitation.

it's possible that the bank you put in is not crediting paypal. if they will they should have collected you some fees for paypal but soon it will be refunded. try asking the admin of paypal.they are ready to serve your needs.

Use contact form in paypal site or if its possible make a direct phone calls.
They put limit in your account because they just want to know that you are really who you are.

WOW!!!! Firstly, am I ever glad to see this post from you..have missed having you around, anneshirley..always enjoyed your input!
I truly am sorry, I cannot be of any help here, but ask the question, have you tried to contact PayPal directly? There seems to be some glitch in the system, and I do not remember having to verify with a Credit Card. Hopefully, some of the senior members will chime in here...as you know, there are many very learned here!
Hope all is well! Take care..and Cheers!

Of course, in case it has slipped your mind..you and I are name sakes...just that my name is reversed, but spelled exactly as your avatar!
I am truly fearful of on=line Credit Cards, but that is just me! Our security always seems to be at risk!
I am sorry you are working so hard, but I guess in this day and time you and I should be very happy tht we have gainful employment!
I am still under the impression, that there is just a "glitch" in your PayPal account, because you got me to thinking, as I have not used PayPal for anything in a year and a couple of months. I did NOT, and have not ever given them a Credit Card, for back-up! Is it possible, that at some time, there was supposed to be a transaction, and the bank didn't cover it...and there was some contention over this issue....Sorry, just wracking my brain, and once again I think I would e-mail them to find out why this glitch! Take care...and Cheers!

Thank you pergammano! I thought no one will notice that I am missing here. Been very busy with my full time job recently that I am exhausted when I got home. As for my paypal, I am thinking of buying an online credit card. Will that be a good decision? What do you think?

This happened to me once my old card had expired. I did not have another card at the time to reverify my account with. I emailed them and they were able to help me get it back to active status. I would call them and talk to someone and see what you can do to get this fixed.

gosh, I was using the bank account to verify my paypal account. most people say if the bank account verification utilizing rare to hit the limit. but if it happens maybe we should be more careful. have you contacted the paypal related to this?
