Whip Cream - what is up??

I usually prefer to use Cool Whip but this weekend we decided to get a can of Whip Cream and it didn't even make it through the meal. We were serving crepes for breakfast. Has anyone noticed that the can doesn't go very far at all? What a waste of money!

Yeah, well I hate situations like that. Once I bought a can of sweets and when I turned the can upside down I could see that it was significantly and deliberately made so there would be less candy in it. I was totally in chok. Companies are willing to do anything for money.

Thanks for the response Dinoman! I swear that the two liters of soda are the same way!

Yes the can doesn't go as far, but if I remember correctly, the canned stuff is more dairy where as the cool whip has more hydrogenated fat..Since I found this out, I have been using the can only..

Thanks for the links Carmelanirel! Yeah, I know Cool Whip doesn't have any dairy in it! But love the stuff, I can remember as a kid grabbing a spoon and just eating it out of the container! I really am going to check into making homemade whip cream! Thanks for the response!

Yes I was right and found a couple sites that talk about it..Plus the cool whip stuff isn't even dairy. So I prefer the dairy product, even if I don't get as much. http://www.ochef.com/1122.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool_Whip

Yeah I understand, there are still some things I eat that I know I shouldn't, but I try to eat better...I think when I was a kid, I even ate cool whip and eating it with a spoon, but only if it was frozen..lol

I only used the can when I worked in demo's and what I noticed was it didn't hold up! I only use Cool Whip and I only use the BRAND NAME!

Gosh, sorry to hear that...but to be honest with you, have only tried "Cool Whip" once in my life...and same goes with any aerated forms of whipped cream! In reality, I am just old school...only like the REAL thing, as I found both of them tasted quite chemical! I am sure it is just what you are used to, as I grew up on a farm, only the authentic thing...real whipped cream, home-made butter, cheese and cottage cheese! Take care...and Cheers!

Good morning...kimbers! I can't respond with a recipe..and really it is a proceedure, but do not want to get your discussion deleted. So, what I will do is send you a friend request...and if you accept, then I can PM you with the recipe..and I guarantee you ..you will never go back to Cool whip..or Aerated Cans! Just me, but I hate the fact that propellants are used in our food! Take Care..and Cheers!

Gosh not the whip cream too. It seems that many products today are decreasing in size and content. But the price continues to rise. These manufacturers are investing more time on making the products seem to be fancy looking and cutting on the actual content. I have not bought whip cream in a while, but maybe go online to the manufacturer and let them know your disappointment and your loyalty to the product. It may get you a couple free cans. Best of luck.

I have tried contacting ReddiWhip in the past, with no reply from them. This time we bought the generic, so I am kinda of out of luck. Oh, I agree products have been slowing decreasing in size but not in price!!! Thanks for the response!
