Nowadays you keep hearing more & more stories about people being scammed by stores, mostly online. The stores trick people into buying things which they will not receive, or will receive something different than expected. They use misleading advertising most of the times to trick people into buying on their websites. What do you think has to be done to stop these shops from doing this?

In my opinion, we should stop patronizing those online shopping. For me, once is enough that i have been misled into buying online. From then on, i don't like anymore. Although some would say that it depends on the online shop, but i don't want to take the risk of losing my hard earned money anymore.

I think you need to stick with a very reputable store in the first place. Like ebay etc..otherwise you are asking for trouble..there are so many scammers out there its crazy!

hi destinybattlefield I only shop at stores I know like lands End and Lane bryant whom I trust and have not ever had any trouble with them. at all. Myonly concern there is they are both a little pricey but they so not scam you and they sell only quality goods. I have had a problem with size but thats not although their fault. so I am pleases with them. Also J. C pennys is safe too. love their prices and their clothes.

I think a lot of the stores you are talking about are stores that people themselves own through sites like ebay or even etsy and amazon. I think that their should be legal action taken or at the very least an ip ban so that they can not create another store like this. I think that the merchandise should be delivered free of charge with a refund to the customer as well as allowing them to keep the misdelivered (intentionally misdelivered) item.

when i buy something from online, i better to pay it after i receive the goods. i a afraid of being scam so i try to buy it from my own city. while in different city they used to ask money first then the goods will be delivered. i better shop it offline. if i get scam by one of those sites, i probably will shout it out loud in social networking so it can't scam another people

Hiya DBF, If they have bought online and they do not get the goods they asked for surely they can make a claim through their Credit Card a good Card like Visa usually gives you a good Service like that. This is a bit surprising really are the Credit Card Companies failing to back up the Customer now? I have not bought anything online for a long time so I have not bothered much about it really. Yes about misleading information of what they are going to buy that I have been noticing. Also you buy one Item and they tell you it´s in Stock and then they e-mail you a few Days later saying sorry the item was not in stock and would you like to buy something that is more expensive? I have noticed that is on the up. Surely Paypal backs the People who have bought online too if they have a verified Paypal Account to credit? Those are the things that I have been seeing going on. It makes me much more careful than before of course.
