What is the disadvantage of looking younger?

Anyways, that got off topic, now to the discussion - well, looking young poses one problem as far as my experiences go - Going by my illness, I have not got a great health and physically I seem to be a sick guy in late 20s. Now this causes the problem - whenever I travel on a train for my yearly checkup... the TTE always doubts my age as on the Ticket it mentions 35(the last year) and then asks for proof saying that I am traveling on someone else's ticket....

Hi Ifa!. I got one my friend has really young place even when she graduated from university she look like junior high student. Even one of her maid never calling her ibu because she think she is younger than her and married at really young age.When she tell her truly aged she not believed until her mom confirm it. She look so young actually even with her baby people often think he is her brother. I don't think she really enjoy it when people think she is teen when she mature woman. Its life so its common if people want different think many people with look mature than their age while others look much younger. Its has their own problems if you wanna make it problem or just better except it.

hi ifa here in the US everyone seems obessed with the idea that showing you are growing older is a no no. but actually I have seen some young people get turned down as they look too young to handle sertain job.So I have always said look your age and act your age. whether people here want to face it each day makes you closer to older aga. I say sol what. I actually worked part time until I was close to 80 and I loved the fact that I was able to do so. I am now 75 with snow white hair and loving being alive and able to do much of the same thing I did at 60.The thing is to keep ones mind active and use one's mental posers all the times.I cannot abide anyone who says oh shes ancient shes 60. Some are not using all their brain power at forty while others are mentally active as long as they live. I am told by many that I do not look 85 but I really am.Its all in using your God given brains all the time. Any muscle will lose its energy if not used.

Not that much I guess. But I think when applying for work, looking younger than your age might have some disadvantage especially when you're applying for a senior position. Some people still relate looks to wisdom and experience. They tend to assume that an older looking person possesses more experience than a younger one.

Looking younger is most people would want it to be. If there is a disadvantage to associate with it, it might be that you look so immature, that is only one thing I can think of. So, do you actually want to be look younger, or you totally hate to be younger?

I think one of the disadvantages of looking younger than your own age is people may not take you too seriously. This applies for both men and women. You may have more experience about something, or have more knowledge about something in the work place. But for closed minded people (I'm not saying all people are like that). For close minded people, the positions or projects or opinions will be better off comin from people who look more professional and more mature. Hmm..

I cannot think of any disadantage of looking younger off hand . I think people spend lots of money to look younger and even go under the knife.. Only problem is if one is looking younger and going with his/her son or daughter, s/he might be mistaken for his/her 'sister/brother', instead of parent. . I look younger than my age and I love it.

When I was at secondary school one of my friends looked way younger than she really was. At age 11 she looked more like 5 years old. Then at age 12 she looked about 6 years old. From age 13 to 14 years old she looked around 7 years old. Then her family moved to a different area. She arrived at her new area at an time that she wasn't prepared for the exams. So the school put her into the year before her. She did very well and achieved 5 grade C exams. Now she is an adult she is 5 foot 9 inches high so that is very tall. She looks very youthful still. She always had to prove so was over 18 years old. The management of night clubs made jokes and said things like "oh really" with an element of disbelief. The worst thing was when she was 14 years old she was out on a bike ride and a stranger tried to grab hold or her! This weirdo probably thought he was attempting to get a 7 year old. Thank goodness she got away from this evil person.

Hi Ifa! I agree with most of the answers here. There are advantages and disadvantages in looking younger. When I applied before for a job, they didn't took me seriously and they thought I was to vain or not fit for the job I was applying. I wanted to be a cashier on the busy super highway..LOL..I almost felt bad for being all prep-up for that interview. I don't know why people judge you on your appearance and just conclude "no, no, she can't stand to be in the hot weather and dirt." That was a sad experience for me. I really wanted that job, for the experience of something new and challenging. I think maybe if I showed more strength in my character, they would have took me seriously. But well, I have learned my lessons...(^^,)

there had been so many times that people would think or look at me younger than my age. there was even a time when a guy had asked my wife, if i am her eldest son? well, what i think about this subject now, people will also look down on you when they think you are younger than them, even if you only look younger for them.

Hi ifa... Looking younger means a chocolate figure here? Everyone will treat you as a kid and you cant deserve all those that you want according to your age. Mainly people will stare at you.... may be embarrassed situation. lol. Take care.

That younger men will flock on you and we have a hard time telling them one by one that you are older than you look so could not accept any of their proposal to have a date.

The only disadvantage for me is that my son being 6 ft 4 inches tall and as beautiful as he is, is that while around his friends and acquaintances they feel I am one of the guys.. lol It is more of an advantage because although I uphold all respect it is quite flattering. Although not sure he is ecstatic about it but then again he and I hang out a lot so he must like it. lol

Is there a disadvantage? ummmm....... nothing really that I could think of or maybe in relationships? If you look way younger than your partner even if you're just in the same age bracket, you would see people raise their eyebrows. I know cause I also do that when I see a couple that looks like as if they have a huge age difference, I know that's bad but I can't help it.

Having a younger look has many benefits. At least you can fool around:) People pay so much money to have the younger look, now at least you can save this cost. If you have to point out the disadantange, then perhaps others may think you are not mature yet since you have a younger look. I love China

Depends on how young you look. if you look like a teenager then you would have a hard time applying i guess.. unless you look young but sophisticated and confident..then i believe that would be an advantage in work applications, since you view as if you are refreshing and vibrant.

I don't think there's a disadvantage of looking younger. If you looked younger you have to take that as a compliment. The only problem I can think of is mistakening you for being younger than your real age but that can be corrected easily, can't it?

I don't think there are if we like what others think, cause people admire the younger. I think older people are more admirable, I am not afraid of getting older, I find it fascinating. Looking younger was a disavantage for me though when I was going to watch a rated 14 year old movie and I was 21 and they didn't let me in, so I laughed hard cause I couldn't believe in that woman and she got angry like I was really 13 or something.

the status looking younger is hard to changeable.it let people feel not mature and deep,so some position isn't fit you. but each coin have its two sides,look younger,and not old for ever,which is what many people wanted to be... haha,enjoying it.
