hello mylotters,
for us women, menopause is natural phenomena, some have it around 50, some earlier other may have theirs, much later. i maybe approaching, too, because i am experiencing hot flushes, fluctuating blood pressure. at times i get palpitations. the vein on my neck becomes very visibly palpitating.. near the throat. it is sometimes very prominent, and it is not only me who sees it. my daughter, my granddaughter have seen the vein throbbing. is it natural? should i consult a doctor? i get the feeling of being depressed (for no reason at all). i am having second thoughts if i should tell my husband about it because he is abroad and i dont want him to worry.
the male - i have read also has their male version of menopause.. it is called andropause, i think.
for those who have experienced menopause.. did you have such palpitations or hot flushes? does it happen before the menopause or right during menopause?
please respond, advise me, what to do.
ann

Dear Anny
I am running 58 now, i started having irregular menses, heavy bleeding when i was just 40, followed by premenopause syndromes, may be it was too early.
I had hot flashes, headache, irritation, getting angry easily, but not those palpitations, i am scared..
Please consult a G&O Specialst and Medicine specialist.
Take adequate rest.
Dont strain yourself, take it light.
It is our previlege as woman, males don't have this lol
Thanks for sharing
Happy posting, cheers.
Namastey.

hi kal,
very seldom that i get hot flashes, but yes, i do experience it as well. i was having irregular menses during my early years and it seems to be funny that the menses have become regular now as i grow older. i still could hold my temper even when it is very stressful already but i get those palpitations.. a real uncomfortable feeling.
i hope they are nothing worse than just premenopausal syndrome.
thank you. i will have myself checked.

Sweety
You need not get worried, this is natural for women every where, some experience earlier, some later, my wife started having problems when she was 40, gradually it became severe, after few years it vanished..
Your hubby is abroad, you should tell him, am sure he will not mind and get worried, he knows it is common and previledge of a woman
About male menopause, called andropause, i am aware of, my profuse sweating might be due to this!!
Thanks for sharing your problem in this nice discussion
Cheers.
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

hi prof,
women who have their menstruation early, i was told, also reach early menopausal stage.
its good for her because she have already passed it.
guess you are a late bloomer hence you are still in the andropause stage.
thank you for sharing.
have a very nice day.

Well, for me I have been going thru Menopause a couple of yrs. now and the symptoms are not Fun, and on top of being Diabetic is can be hard to keep track of which is for what for sure. But I have the Hot Flashes from time to time and then the Cold sweats, the mood swings, the irriatability, etc. Most of the time it does never get too bothersome but have the roller coaster BP as well.
What you are going thru could just be a natural part of Menopause, or something to worry about. Maybe you need to do some research and if still in doubt see your doctor and ask questions. This could just be the worrying from it knowing you are starting to go thru the change as well.
