my 58 year old neighbor is eating like crazy.. fast food, pickles, green mangoes with shrimp paste on the side, pickles, tamarind, chilly, etc. since 15 days, and not in small amounts. she is eating like she has not seen nor tasted such. she like those kind of food when earlier, it was not so. so, we think she is pregnant. but i very well know, she had her menopause 5 years ago. but this food craze. OMG! is it kind of pseudo pregnancy. do you know some body who behave like this. if then, maybe you know what is the reason. do share your opinion please. ann

Dear Anny As she already had meno pause 5 years ago, it is definitely not pregnancy, but you rightly call it as 'pseudo' pregnancy, she might be having depression or some hormonal imbalance, as you are her neighbor and worried for her, take her to a doctor please.. god bless you thanks for sharing HAPPY HOLI Kalyani

Sounds like her body is out of balance some way. It appears like most of these foods are very spicy? I am not familiar enough to know what else they have in common. Certian illnesses cause the body to crave things, salt for one. But I do know that anytime your body changes you need to check it out. It could be important.

Hmm, I don't know anyone who would eat like that, especially female friend. I only knew a couple of male friend who would eat like this like crazy. But since they are male, they won't be pregnant right? So, I don't know anyone who would eat like this, so called "Pseudo pregnant".

I think there is no relation with pseudopregnancy. People when grow older, their taste buds starts craving for different different tastes. I think she is going through this phenomenon only and therefore is eating a lot of salty and spicy things. It is also possible that there is some contribution of depression here. During episodes of depression people starts eating a lot this is called binge eating. They developed eating disorder in mental state of depression and anxiety. This is called bulimia nervosa. Bulimia nervosa is defiend as a chronic morbid disorder involving repeated and secretive episodic bouts of eating characterized by uncontrolled rapid ingestion of large quantities of food over a short period of time (i.e., binge eating).

there are so called "menopause babies" which give way to a possibility that she is pregnant. or maybe she is just really craving for eating so many foods. it really doesnt mean she is preggy unless she sees a doctor to consult.
