One of my close friends has gorgeous long brown hair. Unfortunately she is getting it chopped off but the point is that i want her long hair! No matter how hard I try i can't grow my hair long without the ends splitting and causing me to get it cut. I would really like to get my hair to be healthy at elbowish length. Any tips on how to grow healthy hair fast would be muchly sppreciated!

Hi sawim and a warm welcome to myLot! I have very long hair also and it is all in the care and also with genetics. Mine is very thick. I do get it trimmed routinely every 6 - 8 weeks and find this helpful with the prevention of splitting and breakage. Also I do take very good care of it with my shampoos and conditioners. I also condition it once a month with a hot oil treatment. So how you care for it also will maintain it healthy. Best of luck and cheers to your future long hair.

Long hair - How to achieve this?
I guess not all people are really born with the same characteristics. Some have thick hair while some have thin. Some have curly yet some have straight hair. However all of us can achieve healthy hair whether if be thick or thin or curly or straight. It all depends on having a good diet and proper hair care. You should learn which food would give enough nutrients that will make your hair healthier and you should also have to invest some money in going to the parlor for regular hot oil and spa if you can't do it on your own.

Some say gelatin is good for your hair and your joints. It's very nutritious too. Anyway, it's also best to consult with a hairstylist to know what type of shampoos and conditioners suit you. Also, if possible, refrain from blow drying your hair because the heat will eventually harm your hair strands.

the only thing i can think of is to get your hair trimmed every 8/10 weeks so it grows quicker and the split ends will be controlled

I already have an elbow-length hair. =) Before, I used to have split ends so I got it trimmed down a bit by 3 inches and then I started to take care of it by using conditioners everyday (but I use shampoo every other day then conditioner again). You should also drink more water because our hair, just like plants, needs to be watered everyday to stay healthy. I din't mean take a bath when you need it to be watered. Just drink plenty of water everyday and eat healthy foods.

There is a very good product but it's especially for anti-hairloss.It's name is Minoxidil 2%(for women),or Minoxidil 5%(for men).Really works!!

Hi. sarwim. Welcome to myLot! I think that it would be best if she would consult with a hair dresser. I am sure that this hairdresser will will point her to the right path. Once you can tame the split ends then your hair will grow much longer then.

hello sarwim, My daughter's hair is just inches away to the floor. I never had her hair cut for 8 years, now she's 17 years old. I never had any problem with spit ends. I just took care of her hair with shampoo and put oil for smoother and shiny looks. Maybe you have to watch the food you are taking in,sometimes it is one of the reason for not having good hair, and also you have to have a good sleep. Have a great day and welcome to mylot

To avoid your hair end splitting, you have to make sure that your hair have enough vitamin and always moist and not dried up. Your hair end split is because it is too dry and lack of vitamin E, what you can do is buy the vitamin E which you can found in any pharmacy. It is in a capsule form and if you break it up, it is a bit oily, so, just apply those liquid on your hair and you can see the result within a week if you do it daily. Hope this will help.

To have a beautiful hair, we should include a healthy diet too. So eat plenty of fruit and vegetables as well. Use a clarifying shampoo once a week and never forget to use conditioner daily to avoid getting split ends. You can use your regular shampoo everyday, just make sure that they are safe enough for daily use. Other shampoos are too harsh on the hair so be careful in choosing the right shampoo for you. A hot oil once a month is good too. But to have a healthy hair you should also take care of your scalp so you can opt for hair spa with hot oil once a month.

My girlfriend is trying also to have a big long hair. But as you said before it is very hard for her too. She is taking care of her hair like it is a child or something even more precious. She is washing it every two days, drying it after a little time after getting out of the bathroom. And never go to sleep after washing the hair, she is spending some hours in front of the tv or computer and then she is getting to bed. I hope I helped you and gave you some good tips.

I've always had a long hair and the best thing to keep a healthy hair is use shampoos that are not too strong, and always use a conditioner. Brush your hair every night and have your hair trimmed every after 3 months or so. If you don't want it trimmed and wanted it long, make sure that you don't get to be under the sun for too long 'cause this causes dryness of the hair. Have it treated with hot oil or cellophane or a hair spa. This is to keep it as healthy and beautiful as always.
