How long do I have?

Hey, I have been up all night trying to find an answer to this one, and apparently even the Implanon website is hedging to give me an answer. So, hopefully there will be someone out there in Mylot land that knows the answer to this one for me. Okay, so February 27th of this year I was due to have my Implanon taken out. I actually was able to get an appointment for the 18th, but then it snowed and the health department canceled my appointment and they refuse to set up another appointment at this time because I just moved. So, now here I am on March 17 with an overdue contraceptive implant in my arm. My boyfriend is planning on having a vasectomy done soon so that I don't have to worry about birth control anymore. So, no, we do not want kids right now (he says he is getting the reversible kind in case we change our minds)But, we are engaging in *ahem* risky activity right now for my birth control being about a month overdue. I have heard all kinds of stories about Implanon and pregnancy. I've heard that if you leave it in too long you will never be able to conceive again, I've heard that you will conceive but it will be an ectopic pregnancy. And I've heard that it is possible to have a normal healthy conception as little as 1 week after your 3 years are up. I need to know the truth... am I now at risk of getting pregnant? Or have I just shot my chances for any future pregnancies... or am I at risk for an ectopic pregnancy? Again, I was due to have this taken out on February 27th and it is now March 17th.

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about this type of thing. You can do some research online and ask questions of doctors online for free. You will get actual answers. You can talk to others that have the same thing that has happened to them. Also I'd call a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist they may know. They are actually very knowledgable able things to do with medical things. So that is where I'd start. I'd even call the health department and ask to speak with a doctor or a PA. and ask them. Let them know your concerns and that you need and appointment asap.
