Yes it does, I think it is just a new way to socialize, I think it is also a way to keep in touch and even find people lost from your past and all this is so good for many.

well, you can connect with your friends in facebook. Aside from socializing, you can play in facebook. There are tons of games available in facebook that makes other user stay long on that site, I am one of those user who spend time too long for playing to spare boredom. lol. You can also use it for business purposes. You can chat those people who are online in your friends list unlike other social networking.

You keep in touch with your friends. That is the main reason. We all cannot get on the phone all the time and talk to them, and we cannot write letters all the time with the postage price. As for emails, some delete them. And with causes, we find that in Facebook, we get notified about them and if our friends want us to support them it is better then from a stranger.

I am a member of Facebook too. I am on it everyday. I just don't want to get addicted to this site. It can be immature in some ways. I don't like how some people never accept my friend request, but yet you see them posting recently on their wall or someone else wall. I don't like this at all. I love myLot more better. I am able to communicate with many people on a daily basis and it is so much of fun. I can be "me" on this site, I don't have to win friends like I would have to do on Facebook.

I think Facebook is a nice center point for a lot of people to meet old friends from school and work. It is nice to have a popular place to go to do that. People can work on their profiles and pictures and have it set up as they like. I like it and enjoying going there on my breaks and playing a game or two.

ya i am also a facebook user and i have seen now era facebook becomes more popular , most of the people are engaged in this internet surfer . i think it is good social networking site . thats why people is used to like so much every body wants to create an account in this internet surfer.and now it become a part of my life.

i barely spend time in facebook. i just check it to see what friends and family are doing and then go on to something else. i think i would miss it though it if was gone.

I think it is popular because you get to express yourself anyway you want. You also get to keep up with people you care about without spending a lot of time doing it! It's easy to stay connected with people and learn about people too!

Right, because it gives one the opportunity to meet one's neighbors & co-workers without having to work to be near them (kind of like The Original Facebook, the book many Universities publish every year with pictures-, names- & profiles-of the upcoming year's students). You could kind of think of it as a group-conscience email/answering-machine/mailbox/newsletter, where you can report "what's going on with you" and see "what's going on with all your connections there"---same for Twitter, LinkedIn, Bebo etc.

I am still getting by without facebook. I don't think I will ever create an account although friends are asking me to. I like my privacy more than exposure or finding old friends. I am happy to socialize in myLot alone. I really wonder though how long I can hold out. I think the popularity is due to friends' urging others to join in, and as they say, there is crowd behavior. One goes in, another, then a flood of friends. All together now.

I think Facebook is popular because at the time it launched there weren't many sites where people got socialized, because this is exactly what Facebook does - it is a social network that connect people who don't know each other, or friend which share things and stuff easily, or some people find old friends and class mates they completely forgot about. I also managed to find my entire old class from high school. It's a good social network, but frankly, I can live without it either. I need someone, I know where else to find them.

I'd have to agree with you there, i too cannot understand why it is so popular but still everyone around me continues to "poke" each other and constantly feels the need to post their life stories online, however, each to their own and unless i try it, which i havent, then i cant really knock it...

actually it really depends. some people I know are not interested in it despite the hype. facebook is a way to communicate with friends anyway, so that's why some people use it while some others just like to make some new friends.

Faceboook is definitely an interesting site and a perfect way to reestablish contact with old friends or make new ones,but luckily I'm not addicted to it and I hope I will never be;after all,real friends have to be more important than online friends,some of whom we will never meet in reality,and all those games people are so mad about are a huge waste of time if played ffor several hours every day.So for me,facebook is good,but not essential.
