Baby Oil

My skin is not rough but it is not as soft as I would like it to be. I have recently bought some baby oil to use to soften my skin. My thinking is i'll use it after each shower, and then after using it I'll apply lotion maybe an hour or so later. Im wondering if this would also help my leg hair to grow in thinner, with of course shaving more often. I do need to shave my legs more often especially with warmer weather approaching. Do you use baby oil?

What I have learned in the health and beauty industry is to use a dab of petroleum jelly along with my lotion and it keeps my skin and heels as soft as a baby. You would be surprised on how well it works, I have been doing so for years and my skin and heels are really soft. Especially if you apply it to the heels routinely.

I've herd petroleum jelly is bad though so I am not sure. I can understand where it would help keep your skin soft and I know it has done so for me in the past. My heels really need some care as I don't ever pay attention to my feet, except that they itch all the time from being so dry!

I'd avoid using baby oil- you know it is a by-product of petroleum production right??? Go for the more natural material, aloe vera, etc.... Plus, if you are hydrated, drinking plenty of water, eating the right foods, your skin will naturally keep it self nice and smooth.

I did not know that it was a by product of petroleum. Well I guess after this bottle I'll be using something else. I really want to get a cocoa butter kit anyway. Thanks for letting me know about that!

Hi Somecowgirl, I used baby oil frequently for the little kids after they had bath in the morning. I then rubbed my hand with oil left on my arms. When getting aged my skin tend to be rather dry. I usually apply them on my neck and arms as well as legs after every shower. I don't think baby oil would help to dwindle the leg hair. Happy posting

I would suggest using a loofa in the shower and then put the baby oil on right after you get out. This is to keep the moisture in. The loofa will assure that you are getting all the dry skin off and that will make your skin softer. Using the baby oil right after the shower will assure keeping the moisture in and skin softer.
