I posted my first hubpage today

I am looking for more ways to earn a good income from home. I applied for suite 101, but apparently, they don't feel that I am a good article writer so they turned me down. Today I was looking for other writing opportunities and I found hubpages. I posted my first article there today about how to get paid for doing surveys and already have gained some followers and had several page views. I also plan to be much more active here on mylot since I have gotten my first payment from here for last month. I feel that hubpages is much easier than writing for somebody like suite 101 would be anyway. I tend to throw a little humor into my writing and find that most professional sites want you to write newspaper writing as I call it, bland and boring. I hope not to offend others that may do this kind of writing, but I prefer a friendlier, less stuffy environment. I mostly write poetry or fiction, but I also enjoy sites like mylot.

I tried hubpages and was not so happy with it. I did write something on squidoo and liked it a bit more. Am writing for a publisher directly and also venturing outdoors as well, to try earn these days.

I admire all your hard work and dedication. You truly are very helpful to a great many of us and always seem to be very caring. Best of luck, you continue as you are because your health is an absolute must. What I like is that despite your health issues you are a fighter and never gives up.

Thank you. I don't know much about squidoo. I would love to go back to work on the outside, but my heart condition isn't stable. It causes me low blood pressure ,dizziness and fainting so I am looking for more work at home opportunities. By working at home, I can work around these spells.

I put up one hubpage ages ago. I have started a squidoo lens, but feel lost. I have twelve articles on Helium and should add more. I have a freelance site that pays per article, but I have not written one yet. I have to earn more, or find some kind of outside job.

Times are tough here. For now, we are on what is called Ohio Works First and we get that along with my son's SSI. It will end in July and I don't finish my schooling at Ashford University until August. Article writing will help me out if I can get into it.

My unemployment will end in May, unless I am approved for another extension. I have things I could do, but just keep doing the more social things like MyLot, because I love it.

Welcome to HubPages Linda!
I have been been writing on HubPages for several years now and I was attracted to the community for the same reasons you are. It definitely has a friendlier more supportive atmosphere - and less stuffy environment than some other writing sites. It is a great platform for creative writing and building and online following. I like hubpages a lot and it's a great site and I do use my affiliate links, but I always make sure it's relevant to what I'm writing about. The site is really nice and I like the design and I need to write more, but I'm back logged on a few other sites.

It is good that you joined Hubpages. It is a very informative and lovely community like Mylot. I hope you write more hubs there and earn a lot.

I cant comment about hubpages as iam not a member of it.But iam a member of triond.Iam not feeling that iam a good writer.so i get a cent for writing articles in triond which is very low.Hope to improve my writing like maybe 200 words per article.If you can advice me how to write good and write more it would be helpful.

I like Factoidz and Triond.
Factoidz is more strict with article submissions because they only want unique content, not stuff that can be found on wikipedia. They pay something like 10-20 cents each time you submit an article with a minimum of 400 words, so I'd say it's worth it.
It's much easier to publish on Triond, because they have close to zero standards. Unless you are really good at SEO and niche writing, most of the money you make will be based on how many friends you add and how much you comment on their articles. In this way it's sort of like myLot. When you comment on someone's article, they will comment back, giving you views and cents.
