pineapple is richvitamin C and bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down protein. bromelain has been effective in killing internal parasites. so my wife uses it too with adobo but mostly with pininyahang manok. another thing that your children will surely love is beef steak or pork steak she puts fried tofu before the sauce boils it all together. tofu is rich in protein too and some vitamin B and calcium as well. as starters its okay if they dont eat the tofu for the vitamins that tofu gives is already at the sauce then eventually they will eat it as well. my wife is a good cook so my child eats veggies in a way that he does not know. har har har

wait, the tofu is for the beef steak, she puts potatoes too. she does not put pineapple on beefsteak. do you use fresh pineapples? fresh ones are better than the canned ones. just a suggestion. enjoy eating and have a great weekend.

there are lots of instructional videos especeially at youtube, just type in "adobo".. you can use pork meat or chicken meat or a mixture of both mixed... there are lots of variations on the ingredient mixture and adding pineapple tidbits is one of them...hope you try it.. happy myLotting!

I'm gonna try that too then but if you put pineapples, you don't need to put sugar anymore right?

yup....you don't need to put sugar as the pineapple's juice would blend with the sauce and it just have the sweet flavorful taste.

The smell of the adobo with pineapple tidbits is appetizing. You can also add banana blossoms which is very abundant in tropical countries like the Philippines. It is a source of potassium, vitamin C and A. The kids will love it too.

Wow, that sounds great. I like adobo too. My mom used to cook adobo for us. It's one of the most known dishes in the Philippines.

since you're mom used to cook it, then better take lessons from her on cooking it. A lot of Americans and foreigners alike are cooking it! youtube has a lot of videos showing how to cook adobo and the one i saw was an American who learned from his Filipina wife..

Oh, i remember this- i saw it in a commercial and it does look really good and kind of weird if you haven't tried it- adding fruits to the adobo.. But I haven't tried it though ever since seeing the recipe from that commercial.
