The world is NOT going to end in 2012......

I just found a can of veggies with a 2014 expiration date on it! Well now, doesn't that set your mind at ease? Ok, really, I have seen so many articles, discussions, etc. about the 'end' coming, due to the fact that it just happens to be when the Mayan calender ends. I'm curious now, how many of you actually worry about this on a daily basis? How many of you read these articles in an attempt to stay in the 'know' about when the end is coming? There is only one that knows this for certain, and he's not telling! So, why worry about it, you can not change mother nature, you can not do anything about it if or when it does happen. So, why not live life, be thankful for what you have, and live, laugh, and love. As for the weather, yes it's been crazy, but then again, it was crazy before. Around here, we have all been saying 'it's the same weather pattern as in 2000' how do we know, because we are wildland firefighters and that year we were kept jumping on fires, and this year is the same.........oh wow, that means it's repeating itself. lol So do you worry about it? or do you live life to the fullest everyday in spite of it?

Ha ha , so it is about the expiration date, you made me smile friend, yes there have been several prediction, the recent incidence in Japan might be the beginning of the destruction process, who knows? But we don't have control over such calamities, so why fear? As per hindu faith, we are passing through last phase of 'Kaliyug'; so may be the world comes to an end. Thanks for this discussion Cheers. God bless you, have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

Indeed what your friend said is true...Natural disaster is not something that we can prevent of, but nevertheless we can do something to lessen the impact of the disaster through the utilization of the technology that we have nowadays... There is nothing that can prevent God's will, but with His will as well, we can lessen the impact of His decision on us...God bless all of you...

LOL. Sorry but your first sentence really did make me laugh!! I keep seeing things posted about the world ending in May. Have you seen that? That's in 2011 - only 2 months away!! I know it's not going to happen but geesh I'm sick of seeing things about it. I live every day to the fullest. I expect to live to be a very old woman and see many more things in my lifetime!

I don't think the world will end that year although I'm open to ideas especially those that theorists propose. Scientists from NASA said that it's going to be solar flares that'll end all life-forms on Earth. They said it'll cause 4 to 5 years of black out. Humans from the past lived for a long time without electricity so why couldn't we in the future? Another theory is that planet Nibiru or Nibirus or whatever the hell they call it will crash here on Earth, therefore, ending all life here. From my perspective, Nibiru wasn't even included in our solar system even when Pluto was still in it because it was so far away, and it still is too far away from here. How the hell would a planet so far away crash on Earth after only a span of almost 2 years? There are a lot more theories out there. There are some who said it will be asteroids crashing here on Earth. There are others that said it will be mother nature's wrath that'll destroy Earth. I kind of got interested when I heard that 2012 is going to be doomsday so I searched for these theories but in reality, I think people are just too bored of their own lives they start to make these stories, or at least unconsciously create one, by reconnecting past events, planets or asteroids from outer space, to further create a hype everyone would buy to make life a little interesting.

End of the world is not near - maybe more of regional disaster rather than a single earth killer event.
The world is going to end one day, nothing is forever i guess in this planet earth, however i doubt it will be suddenly like a meteor hit or hollywood movies of earth killer events, maybe it will be regional catasropbic disaster like norway volcano exploded, aceh tsunami , japan earthquake and such. However, these events will eventually effect the whole earth throught economic impact and enviroment fallout like radioactive and stuffs.Japan is good example how one far far place can effect the whole earth.

So I assume that the can of veggies made you feel safe by now. I've already read and heard the same thing about the "end of the world" which they specifically stated to happen on DEC. 21, 2012. The date struck me! It's my day and the world will be going to its end??! Well, they've already said it for the past years but the world is still here. Let's just wait for the real end.

Personally, I don't believe in this 2012 apocalyptic event...I have always believed that the exact date of the end of time is only known to the Lord Himself, and there is no one in the world that can tell the exact date but Him... Indeed what you say is true...It is only the end of Mayan calender, so why we should be worry about? It is true that Mayan is the best ancient civilization known to the world based on its astronomical breakthrough, but it does not mean every astronomical event in Mayan calender should be considered important or will greatly impact the life on this world...Alignment of planetary motion is indeed a rare, bizarre astronomical event of all time, but it shouldn't be a burden to us...If the end is to happen anyway, we cannot do anything about it...Launching hundreds of thousands of rockets to adjust the motion of any one planet will not even do the job... What I wanted to say here is, if the end is to come what you can do better are to pray to Him and ask for His forgiveness and obey His command on the Earth...Also, do good to others and life your life to the fullest... p/s: I think that can is going to be brought along when we leave the Earth in 2012!

I don't really worry it. Because I don't believe it. They said the world would be end in 1999.But it didn't. But, sometimes it did cross my mind. Especially for recent events. It seems we do have lots of disasters happen around us, those Asian countries, China, Japan... Don't know what to say or what to believe, but, I don't wanna die
