A fool's mission is when you go to do something that basically is either impossible or ridiculous. This Elderly Couple asked my Husband if he could help them drill into some brick so that they could hang something in their basement. He asked them, "Is this masonry (masonary, spelling?) brick?" Thsy said it was. He asked them if they had bits for that, they said they did. He brought different kinds of drills with him. The bits fit one of his drills. He drilled and drilled and drilled. He didn't get anywhere. The Couple had hired a construction contractor to come look at a room they were going to redo upstairs. They all (the couple and my husband) said something about this brick wall to the guy. He asked the couple if there had been a fireplace in the basement. They thought back and they think they had someone take one out of the basement when they first moved in decades ago. So the Contractor and my Husband both said, "Fire brick," at the same time. That apparently takes diamond bits. So have you been on a fool's mission lately? Ever? It doesn't mean you're a fool, it's just an expression. There are other expressions for it. Maybe you can think of some. Have you ever tried to do something that it ended up you just couldn't do it? Was something or everything stacked against you? What was it?

My daughter wanted me to go on one just lastnight. They had gone to stay over at a friend's house. He had just gotten an X360 for his birthday and my grandson went to play it. He got bored with the games it offered and wanted to play his DSI so his mother calls me at nearly 9 at night to bring him his charger so he could play games. It's bed time for pete's sake and I said 'no'!

I have not been on a Fool's mission lately, can't think of the last time, unless we can consider a printer I was trying to fix for a family member. Immediately upon the call for help, after asking several questions I immediately said I do not believe your printer can be fixed. I informed the family member it would cost way more then a replacement. Well although I explained and did extensive research, knowing very well there would be no way. I spent countless hours past November downloading several drivers to no avail. Over and over I tried to figure it out, knowing well and good it would not work. Because the family member insisted on getting it repaired. Long and behold after numerous attempts and going over to try and figure it out she purchases a new one and did not call me to tell me until I arrived for one last attempt. (yeah, come to think of it, I was a fool) lol.

Many times in my life it feels like I have been there. Not neccesarily with items per say, but my life as a hole. Especially when it comes to my situation with my job, and then my Health and many times life itself. It always seems like everything I try to do ends up not being the right thing. It is always not Fast enough, not in time, etc. and always ends me leaving frustrated. Hope that things for them did get better from there.
