does lipgloss go bad? I mean I guess it can't really go bad but if it's not been used in so long can it cause your lips to dry up? I found a thing of lipgloss in a shed and wanted to know if it was still good or if I should just throw it out.
I don't wear lipgloss all that much but was thinking of doing it again more.
Should I put it in the fridge for awhile first?

All kinds of makeup can go bad. The oils in the things like lipgloss and lipstick and cream based makeups can spoil. Bacteria can grow in your make up. It just depends on how long it has been out in the shed and how old it was when you put it in storage. I would throw it out.

I am definitely going to do that and just go get the lipgloss I wanted to get at target. Don't want to risk an infection, or anything like that. My lips are already chapped enough don't want them sore and chapped either.

As a bzzagent I got to try two new Lip Perfection lipsticks from Cover Girl. They are made with silk and are very soothing and smoothe. It is fun to go get new makeup, and with chapped lips you want to take extra care.

I think with time make up does go bad because of the ingredients. I find with some of mine they usually get dry and go bad.
You may want to seal it tight and put it under hot running water, which it will then make it back to smooth but not sure if the actual ingredients will be safe to reapply though.
So I probably would do like you and pitch it.

Yeah I think that's what I am going to do, ratehr be safe then wake up and have a big ol' rash across my lips. I am not sure how long I had it before, but I know it's been in storage for atleast four years.

As a guy I would not actually know. But I could see it deteriorating/ drying out. Since manufacturers place an expiry date on most things, I would not be surprised if it were specifically made t decay after that period. The fridge sounds a good idea in principle, but it might accelerate the process (remember culture/ bacteria experiments at school)- so not that much help.

Yeah I think I am just going to throw it out and get myself another one. It'll be much more safe then using it and risking my lips blowing up and turning blue. Hardly think a guy would want to kiss me then!
