My friend had this problem, someone making a profile using her name and put her picture as avatar also stealing her picture. At first its not really a problem but he start to make negative post and said bad thing. In others word this person try to ruin her reputation. I personally don't know who do it but I believe someone knew her every well. I try to help by reporting it but Facebook not making any move to delete thats user. Any one has suggestion what to do.

Oh no! That's terrible. If you have reported and reported, I don't know what else can be done! I would keep trying. I might also get the police involved...they might have a means of investigation that facebook has to comply with. It is a case of stolen identity which is supposed to be against the law. If it is a local person..perhaps they can do something. I don't know..that is a tough question.

Personally I am confuse what to do its quite confusing actually and feel there is nothing I can do to help her. I think reporting to police will be a great solution but she doesn't want it. Yes I believe its someone in our jurisdiction.

They can trace the IP address and find out where and who it is. Maybe she can do it too if she is computer savy.

Hi Nangisha, that is totally annoying try to make another account with the same profile and same name and if possible same friend list. there you can make a status that another account with that 'similar' name is fake and scam. tell all your friend list to delete 'her' from their friend list. i hope it would work. and btw, thanks for the best response

it is tough if the things went like this. but have your friend ever try to found out who is the person? like trying to send PM or use another account to know who really she is. maybe she have enemy in the past and want to take revenge now

I don't think she want a new account because its her real name ( full name ) and she put all her friend there. Thats person also using her full name and put her picture there and also copy all the picture she had. Its like having two account with from the same person. Its will OK if thats person not making negative comment and rude. But this one since the start planning bad thing. For the best responce you don't need to thanks me, you deserve it.

You can again report to Facebook and post on the wall of that imposter. Else make another fake profile and add him/her in your list of friends and you could send messages to him that you are going to report the matter to FB authorities and you have come to know who actually he is (I think fake threatening may work on his mind)

My best wishes are with you. You can use your 'other account' or may ask a friend to send a request for add to that fake user.

Yeah its seem all I can do is keep reporting even when I feel my effort is not working. I think this person know very well and thats why she or he not added me as fried, because I know exactly my friend and she will not said something like thats. Maybe thats fake ID will work, I had another account I has abandon for a long time and maybe I can edit it as used it. Wish me luck....

That is such a horrible thing for a person to do. I would just suggest continuing to report it to facebook and have others do it also. If it continues she may need to get authorities involved, espically if they continue to post in accurate information about her. If she contacted a lawyer they would be able to find out who made the sight, and she could take them to court for defamation of character. I hope that she can get this resolved soon.

Just make the original one be temporarily deactivated for a month or so. Or make your friend's profile in private settings. Unsearchable. That way the imposter wont be able to see your friend's profile and not steal any pictures. Change her profile pic of an object and change her name maybe.

I guess that person who is the victim here, can just announce in her page to all her friends that this is a fake profile of her, and ask all her friends to avoid it, this will be a easy thing, as her update will go to all her friends as a notification.

Hi. nangisha. That is what is so bad about Facebook. We are unable to keep a person from stealing any of our pictures. The only thing that I can suggest that your friend do is to delete her account. If she chooses to she can sign up again with a new account, under a new name and a photo that is not a picture of her at all. She should also work on contacting Facebook admin and informing them that she has been hacked by another Facebook user. She can report this person too. I would be persistent about this, if I was her. It is so sad that there are hidden people on Facebook that have nothing else better to do than to wreck another individual.

Nothing happen so far the fake account still there with posting thats make my friend miserable. I don't what else t do beside keep on reporting. I hope I had a better knowledge about computer because I don't like others to do hurt my best friend which I know she don't deserve to threat like thats.
