Is it wrong to be transgender?

Some people in the world feel they were born in the wrong body and decide to change it. Many religious people feel this is wrong because god put them in that body. While I am Christian I don't really know how I feel about the subject.. I think everyone has the right to do what they want. It's not something I would do myself, but I think everyone should respect eachother no matter what their decisions are. What are your opinions

I have to say that I am against transgender. People use the excuse "God, made me this way" and its a complete lie. Just about every sin is of the flesh. So its a fleshly sin that bring transgender and every other homosexuality to this point. I know everybody heard or learned that God made Adam, and Eve. Not Adam and Adam, not Eve and Eve, so I really don't need to stress that issue, but this is something I just don't condone.

You have a good point too.. We are who we are, and I think we do become who we are as we are growing up. The things that happen to us are in my opinion, what shape us as people. I'm not saying something happened to them to make them that way.. I just don't know, as I have not been in their position.

I think that this is one of those issues that we might not always agree on. Our morals and beliefs are different. We're all entitled to have our own opinions, which I understand and respect. Personally, I don't think that this is wrong. We should feel comfortable with our bodies. For some, this means changing genders. The individuals, who find themselves in this situation, have a right to being comfortable with their own bodies. I don't think that there's anything wrong with it. This is just my own opinion.

I guess that is true as well.. Most people feel comfortable in their bodies already so maybe thats why its harder for a lot of us to understand their reasons for wanting to change.

One of my best friends is transgender. It is a real disorder. They help and treatment which sometimes includers surgery. This should, in my opinion, be paid for by insurance and Medicaid, like my wheelchair and personal care assistants are.

Yes I think the ones who go for surgery are called post-op transgendered. It can be expensive up to 30 000 dollars.

Morally, I can't say if it's right or wrong. It depends on the person's religion. What I believe though is that it's not a person's fault to feel that way. It's something they did not choose to be, it's just the way they are. Well, I am Catholic and I don't know what to think...or at least I know what the teaching is but I want to believe what I want. Honestly, I have a slight tendency and am thinking about this too. The weird thing is I'm a girl, I'm attracted to men, but I do wish I was physically male (yeah, I'm pretty screwed up inside, lol ). What's holding me back is my beliefs and what my family would think of me. I come from a moderately conservative country/culture. I haven't told anyone close to me how I feel although I've been wanting to tell a friend but haven't yet. All I can say is there's only one life and I don't want to grow old and die not being happy because I'm not who I really am or at least just part of it.

It's definitely a confusing subject for most people. We can't choose how we are born, so can they help it? I don't think so. They should do what makes them happy but so many people don't like it. When I was younger I was a bit of a tomboy, maybe I even wanted to be a boy.. For me it was just a stage, but I know how it must feel then. And sometimes you just wonder, if you could be a guy for one day, would you like it more? Only transgendered people have the courage to try that.

I am also Christian like yourself and I know for a fact that we have to be grateful and accept the body that God has given us, as it it His temple. But also from what I learned from my Religious classes back in school we were all given intellect and will, made to think for ourselves and make decisions. As such, I think that we are all entitled to do whatever we want with our lives provided that we are not hurting anyone. I know religious sectors feel strongly about this but, like what you said, I think that everybody should respect another's decisions whatever they may be. Then again, to many, altering your body is already a form of disrespect so I could see this issue won't die down anytime soon. I could see the point from both sides so I'm still on the fence on this one.

I agree, we are given our own minds and are free to have our own thoughts and opinions. I think it's fine for people to follow their religion, but we cannot force others to follow/agree with our religion. We need to respect people even if their lifestyles are different from our own.

all i know that we have to sacrifice our self and give it to God. no matter how hard is, we shouldn't egoist to make our self happy than to serve the God. with that way, The God will judge us that we are really love Him than our self

It is not my place, in my opinion, to say whether being a transgender is wrong. Only you are the captain of your life. I say love yourself, accept yourself and ask God for the answers that you seek, for he is the only one that will truly stand by you while others will condemn you, after all you are God creation.

Many people go through life neve really feeling accepted by others. It is not fair for us to judge people for believing differently as we do. If you find something that makes you comfortable and happy with yourself and the world, you should not be denied that feeling. I don't think it is wrong to be a transgender if that's what make you feel like fitting in.

I agree with you. Every person has power to choose the life which they want. I need to say that I'm a Christian, too. I love my God. And I believe that He loves me too.

I don't have the right to judge people. I can't change them even though I will tell that it is wrong. Only GOD can judge them in their deeds. Just let them what they want to do to their self, it is their decision. Just focus in changing and developing our own self. This way we can testify what is really good in our environment.
