Have you been through the process of repairing your credit for buying a home?

We've been trying so hard to improve our credit scores and they're just not budging! It's so incredibly frustrating! This isn't something we just want to do, it's something we HAVE to do! We have 3 children, we live in a junky little house that our landlord wants to sell. I'm not too worried about it, because he's asking a ridiculous price that no one in their right mind would pay, so I know we have about a year or so. Which means I have a year to increase our scores by 100-150 points! AHHHH! This is making me insane! Has anyone else been where I am? Ready to pull your hair out?

Seems to me like credit scores never seem to change for the better, always for the worst. I have the same issue. Years ago, I financed a van through a company, and they screwed me over. They never reported my payments, not a single one of them. They failed to do this for 2 years. I feel that I wasted 2 years of my time and money for nothing, and that makes me so angry.
