Earning money- a curse for mankind?

Man is the only creature in the world that has to earn money for a livelihood. No other creature in the world is in need of earning money. Is it a curse for mankind? What is your opinion?

A curse? No! Most animals have to work in some way to stay alive. Squirrels have to gather nuts for the Winter. They all have to do something. Just alittle different from what we do. And I don't think it is a curse. We all have a choice and different things we can do. It all depends on our abilities.

Exactly! not only human, other animals have to do something for their living. We human, the most intelligence animal in this world create money which a is a secondary rewards to achieve the primary reward. For instance, we accept money as we know we can buy anything with it. Therefore, we work and earn money. But a bird fly and search for food.

I think is not a curse of anykind, just that human are given the privilege to think by God. All others living things in the world are only given instict to live on. they have only survival instict. for human like us we have the ideal way of doing things. Money values everything, thats when evil sets in, but still GOD gave us guidance. it all depends on how u treat money, two thousand dollare a month may be enough for some but maybe to little for some,,, it all depends..

I agree with you redrose88. You are absolutely right that its depend on the person whether s/he is happy or not with their earnings. Normally, people tend to want more money always. Its human tendency! Its good in one way but also bad in other way.

If you mustn't earn money, you must look for food! This doesn't avoid! What do you want to do? Earning money or looking for food?

I do not think that earning is a curse to mankind. Just imagine if there is no earning, would people go for work? Would there be productions of any thing? Would there be any motivational factor? Would people want to be educated ? Would you start this discussion without any rewards ( mylot earnings )? The answer is undoubtedly No Without money or earnings we cannot proceed in our life and a county cannot develop without it that what I believe!

yep! definitely a curse for mankind. people have to earn money to satisfy their needs and wants. in this world, no one will be ever satisfied of what they have even if they say so. deep in the very heart of each and everyone of us lies a curse, and that is to not be contented. i don't believe people that say they are already contented with what they have because if that is the case then they'd stop working or doing things to improve their everyday living. we are made to fulfill our dreams - may it be small or big, simple or complex, impossible or possible. so earn money as you may, it's limitless as long as you are in the good side of everything you do =) as they say, happy myLotting Doctordidi!

hi doctor didi I feel that its u p to each p erson to make earning money a curse or a pleasure. We do not all think the same way thank the Good Lord for that. When you work in a job that you love your wages are just icing on your cake of happiness. and certainly no curse. What you do to earn your money and how you spend it determines whether its a good help for u s or a curse. To say its a curse for mankind is much too sweeping. I for one never felt that working so I could keep my bills paid was a curse or the money a curse. what a dismal sick way of looking at life and work.I think this is just an excuse for people who want to have everything without working to earn the money to have everything. I am content with what I have myself and in that contentment lies happiness. why make yourself sick wanting and wanting when you only make so much? and so many after they work themselves ragged get those toys and now they no longer want them. I say people grow up. money is not a curse its how you use it that can be a curse. money is just an inanimate object in itself.

I personally think that there are a lot of things that serve as a curse for human beings. When it really gets down to it, the curses of humans all root down to the original sin. When it comes to earning money, I think that is both a curse and a blessing for human beings. I think it is a curse because not all people are able to make it through life comfortably because of the need for money. However, I think it is a blessing because it is something that makes human beings stand apart from all other animals.

I don't think it's a curse. It's simply a method of conducting trade. Man, as a species, is the only one on the planet capable of using any form of money or even being cognizant of the concept of trade. But man also has the capacity to choose to live a minimalist life if he so chooses. It's possible to live without or at least with a very little need for money. Many things can be obtained through barter and one can live off the land for a large part if they desire that type of life. Very few people choose that type of life though. Most choose the path of modern society and the money system, but the fact is that man still has the choice.

It is the need of the hour. If money was not there, something else could have been substituted with it. You may be aware about the evolution of money, ie, the barter system and exchange of thing with things and all. So, the evolutionary method by after a long test and trials, money come into existence. But we have replaced the same its alternate uses like cheques, credit cards and many other way of money equivalent methods. We are sure that if money replace with something else, of course, there could have been something else in this place because we need some thing to assess the value into something which should have the assumption of equivalent value. Money is money, and it is a great hero. It gives pains and gains, we have to agree with it. Thank-s

If you are christian, that is the curse on the man when he sinned. The curse is actually on the land, the land will be bushy and the man needs to sweat to produce and get food for his survival untill he returns to it.Making making is the modern way to see the curse of the land. It will be difficult to make money , man must sweat. It is a curse, but in this curse there is a blessing, only when you sweat you will reap benefits, that when adam and eve in paradise they ate free, after they sinned they had to work,so the curse world is not a free world. as we say there is no such thing as free lunch.

Working for a living is nothing new. Before money was an issue, people still worked for themselves. They had to survive. They traded goods for goods, now you trade money for goods. The only difference is corporate america is running the show, not the little guy anymore. Maybe we should go back to the old days.

I think it is both - a curse as well as a boon. Its a curse because it has lead man to invent and device several ways and means of progress??? that has resulted in destruction of the very nature that nurtured man and the destruction and the pursuit of more different means of self-destruction continues. A boon because man has evolved into a better and more cultured living being than animals.

Every creature works for survival...our major difference is that we want...we want what technology offers, we want nice homes, nice cars, nice clothes...fact is we want a heck of a lot. If we were to return to barter exchange, we'd complain about having to work to produce that which we would trade. Food, cloth, a thousand other things... Money used to be coin, coin was not convenient, it was heavy and often each area would have it's own standard, which made trade rather difficult. Folding money, and later checks, credit cards, debit cards have made commerce almost too easy...we want, so we work. The 'good old days' of hunter-gathering weren't so good. There was feast and famine, we wandered from place to place, always searching for food, tubers in the ground, berries, game... It isn't so bad that we want, what makes it hard is that we want so much and we want to do so little to have it...and others want even more.

I believe so. When God punished Eve and Adam for going against His will. Human beings are the only ones with that so called logical thoughts that enable us to cope with the rapid change in environment as the world grows older. This is the reason perhaps why we are the only specie who is not deemed on the verge of extinction even after hundredths of years perhaps. But we have a price to pay, though. We need to work harder than all other animals in this planet in order to survive. Unfortunately , because of our logical thoughts we invented money. If only we can go back to the times when barter trade is just acceptable... But we can't. I'm not sure, maybe, it is a modern form of a curse somehow...

In this large world every Creature have its own style of living the life. Few Creatures survive my taking others life just for example Tiger, lion,Crocodile etc so its not a curse for them similarly Money is the way to continue our life, yes it had many side affects which takes away many life's and for few people its a addiction so try to be happy in that amount what you have, Don't pray more... otherwise it turns a happy life into a dark night...
