Facebook photo tags and viruses, spam and all that trash.

I was sent an article this morning and asked to write one of my own regarding my experiences with Facebook photo tags.
Did you know that you can report a photo that you've been tagged in, and report the user who's album you've been tagged in? You can report it for being a fake profile.
I never knew about this, I've only removed the tag and blocked the user if need be.
I'm sure we've all been hit with tags on photos, from things we've never even seen. It's annoying but you can do something about it now.
Viruses are an issue as well. There's a link to 18 apps that can give you viruses, as well as have you banned from some apps if you happen to use them. Search Goji Grandma, I think it is for this list. Search it on Facebook though.
I'm not going to post the article links, you can search for them yourself, but you should read them. Google search Mashedreport for the most current article, it's dated August 9th, so this has been an issue for a long time now.
Today I've blocked potential "friends" from even sending requests, I was shocked when I saw the photos on the accounts. If you go and report the profiles, you will find the option to report nude photos, and that's exactly what some of these were.
Others were clearly photoshopped photos, not real people when you looked at them closely. So I reported fake profiles.
I never imagined when I joined Facebook that there would be spam and virus issues. You would have thought that social networking would be fairly safe. But it certainly hasn't been.
I even know of a predator who was on Facebook. He's sitting in prison right now, but sadly, with the lack of court paperwork available, he will not have his account removed. There is simply no way to access this information due to the privacy laws in place.
Because the incident took place around a couple of minors, this information cannot be released whatsoever, and I have no means to get it to report it. So this guy, when he gets out, if he's allowed any internet access, could be back at it again.
It seems to me that Facebook can't keep up with the changing times. Viruses surface from apps all the time, and they can't seem to get rid of them. So we suffer with them.
Make sure you have a good, reliable anti virus program on your computer. Don't get caught without one, as you never know where these viruses will be coming from.
Photo tags are usually put on users who have hundreds of friends, it's free advertising for a spammer. These tricksters always seem to find a way to undermine authority, find a way to get away with spamming. If you don't do anything to prevent it, then it will just keep coming.
If you see warnings posted on your friends status messages, don't ignore them. They are important and will prevent a lot of trouble if you actually pay attention to them.
Better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to social networking.

I will say that there are loads of virus problems on facebook and there are loads of people that are getting loads of spam.I think that face book is not always a good thing to have as there are loads of people that get hocked on the games on there and they tend to buy jewels and other things to move up levels as that way they can get past a friends level, people spending money that they do not really have.I think that face book also causes loads of trouble, as there are always people on it that stir up trouble for other people that are on there.

Facebook is full of issues. I know, I'm one of the addicted ones, I put a lot of Paypal money into one game, and I know I need to stop.
I've always promised myself that any Paypal earnings would go to the bank and not to games on Facebook, but I've always slipped up.
Until today. I'm controlling myself from now on. I have 2 more payments coming in over the coming days, that, coupled with what I got today, will be transferred to the bank instead of going for the game.
I've seen a lot of people lose friends over foolish things, Facebook has been known to destroy families, and you have to be really careful who you're friends with.
The article I put together has my own experiences, plus the information I found this morning, and it should be read by all Facebook users.

I wasn't aware of this article. Besides pictures that feature me or my family....or wishes for festivals from friends...no one has tagged me in their pictures. So, I'm probably comparitively safe. A few of my friends apologize for tagging and also ask us to remove the tags if we are not comfortable with the tagging.
A few months back, I tagged the girls from my friend list who were in one of our school photos. Except one, no one objected. But one friend wrote to me asking to please remove the tag because she didn't like the pic and didn't want others to notice it. Not only did I remove the tag but I also guided her on how she could remove it herself and set her options to not be tagged.
I've never experienced spammers on FB(yet) but thank you for pointing it out. One can never be too careful.

I did not know that about tags, but it's a good thing to know, just the same. I have a friend who keeps tagging me in photos she wants me to see, but that I am not in. I keep asking her to quit it, telling her I only wanted to be tagged in photos OF me!!
