skin bleaching

The skin bleaching is a growing problem in Jamaica slums even though they konw there is big risk of skin caner. Why they would rather do this? I am confused a lot!

Look at how many smoke! Same difference. Some people will do anything to be popular, be in with the in crowd and to be unique. And in the slums people need to find something to occupy their times or go crazy. Can't afford to do anything wholesome so why not bleach? Entertainment is an important factor is anyone's life!
