Isn't Mylot about sharing opinions?

I love discussing here on mylot but I don't like when people get critical or caustic. If you read a discussion I write and you don't agree with what I'm saying don't bash me simply state your opinion and respect mines. Everyone on mylot comes from different places different lifestyles and have different beliefs. When I ask for help don't help me and try to make me feel ignorant about not knowing in the first place I'm not ignorant for asking for help I would be ignorant if I never knew. I appreciate everyone on here who has befriended me and who respects me as well as let me respect them. There's no need for sarcasim because I'm trying my best not to be rude to those who are being rude to me. Please keep your post to yourself if its going to directly affect me negatively. Thanks.

Sometimes people are bored here for being too long in this site or for wanting to go on and do another thing. Sometimes people looked down on others for being naive and yes those think others are inferior to them. Sometimes we just don't know what prompted them to be that way... I am just saying, as in the real society we cannot please everyone and there will always someone that seems to hate everything we do... cheer up...

Or they take something you say and twist around to make a completely different point or call you names or insult you. There are times that it makes you want to just sign off and never come back.

yet anyways. There are alot of really nice people on here as well. more nice than not nice in my opinion.

I am sorry if you have run into some of our more rude members. It is also easy for posts to sound rude because we do not have their facial expressions and voice inflection to go on. I do agree that sometime the words are very plainly out of place. I hope you continue to enjoy participating in discussions here.

That is true about the facial expression but the choice of worlds makes a difference of capitalizing worlds to make them stand up adds emphasis.Now a days as much as people text you can get a persons mood or tone from the text message i know when I'm writing and I'm upset I capitalize as oppose to being happy I would use a lot of smiley face characters

Mylot is defianlty for simply talking to others and getting others opinions and all to often people don't know how to convey those opinions politely. Sometimes people don't want to understand other peoples opinions and that is really sad on their part. Everyone has different beliefs and lifestyles, and I have truly learned alot about other peoples nationalities, beliefs, and take to heart other peoples opinions. I say just keep doing what your doing and ignore those who feel the need to bash you. Happy posting.

Hi there DanaS2011!!!
There were really be times when people will have different ideas from you.But this shouldn't be the reason for you and them to be enemy or to have misunderstanding.I think what we mylotters should do is try to respect each others point of view and try to be more open minded.
People should not let there differences to stop them from understanding each other people.We should not say something bad to anyone just becoz they have different beliefs from us.If ever we encounter a person that has different point of view from us and if ever we need to express our opinions we should express it in a manner that we will not hurt anyone.

YOu are so right. When i'm not asking for help or asking people to make judgments on me, then they shouldn't be giving it. Sometimes i do welcome constructive criticism. But there's a big difference between constructive criticisms and being downright rude to another. Whenever i see a discussion which opposes my opinion, i just tell my side but always say that i do respect whatever that person's opinion is but i'm merely stating mine not to start an argument but to express myself.
I have encountered a lot of those in my discussions and some of them have given me negative ratings. But i have learned to deal with it. It's reality, there are a lot of people like that in this world and i think we cannot stop them from doing what they do best.

Welcome to world of Mylot! I have experienced everything you mentioned plus even worse stuff! I still have a hard time with the bad side of Mylot! Believe me there is a nice side to Mylot! there are alot of nice people here! They are also helpeful people on Mylot! You will find them! They are here! Mylot is not all bad!

I believe that we all have the right to voice our own opinions. it expresses how we feel about something. we don't always have to agree with each other but that doesn't mean we should be ugly about a differene of opinion. Different vies on a subject are what makes a discussion interesting.

I just don't understand why some people feel the need to be rude or sarcastic in their responses.Why even bother to respond at all?
How hard is it to answer a simple question? or respond respectfully? If someone doesn't have the patience to help anyone else, their not forced to respond, since there are plenty of people here who would be more than willing to lend their support, but it seems to me they're not happy unless they're heard.
All i can add to this is, you're better off ignoring them and not adding to their comments, it serves no purpose.

i really loved mylot because its more on sharing of opinions and experiences that really help us,we cant blame those other fellow mylotter being rude to us or commenting negative to our posts,because as you said we have different life styles and different beliefs.

This is one of the reason why i love Mylot because i can freely express my ideas and opinions but since we come from different part of the world and has different view in life some don't know how to deliver their opinion in a nice way i once feel what you feel right now just ignore them some are just participating to earn even their opinions are out of the topic and non sense

I agree with what you say. I find that what bothers me sometimes is the way in which people present their opinions. It's good to have opinions, and I have no problem with people expressing them, but sometimes I've felt that there are some people on here who present their opinions in such a way that it is not perceived as debate, but rather as an attack. That last sentence was not in any way meant to imply that that's what you do, Dana. I said what I said about the way people present their opinions because I recently felt I had to delete someone for that reason.

I agree. If you can't make a respectable comment you should not say anything at all, move on to another topic. There's plenty of things that will be of interest to everyone here on mylot. We are all adults and should have respect for each other and their opinions.

Indeed. We are all adult and even as children we are taught to treat others the way we want to be treated.
