Widespread and rampant practice of the police in India is to use third degree method for extracting confession. I am not sure whether it is also the picture everywhere in the world. Would you kindly reveal the picture in your country? Though it is true that due to activities of the Humans Right Commission, the police now think twice before doing any such act of cruelty to anyone.

It is rampant in my country too, but people are clean, they know their rights, they sue the polie for damages. One way to stop this is educate your people, if they are under any duress or force to confess, then it is not a confessional out of free will so they can tell the migistrate or judge that they were forced to say things they were not in their right frame of mind and also not true. They say it to avoid be hit or punished. The judge will issue warrant for the arrest of the cruel or bad cops if the judge is a good jusge anyway,

hi DoctorDidi Here in Ca in the USA its against our laws for
police to use the third degree. If cau ht doing so the officer
will be suspended and perhaps even kicked off the police
force. We do not tolerate that any more. the bad old days of
the third degree are long gone and good riddance too.

It's against the law here, and if they get caught they'd be out of a job, and probably also prosecuted. Still, I'm sure some of them get away with it.

In the USA no cruelty is allowed. This is the law. Is it followed no. With the invention of phone camaras and other hidden camaras many of rough treatment of
suspectes is comming to light. Many accidents happen to people accused of a crime
and it doesn't take a very smart person to know that these were cause by authorities using illegial methods to treatment. Man's inhumanity to man is alive and well in the USA, until the press finds out and lets the public know.

No here in the US it is not allowed and against the law because it is considered a crime. I am sure some use the method however, I am sure it is covered up some way. If proven to be used the Police can be in a great deal of trouble and would be charged for the crime. Everyone even the prisoners have rights that cannot be violated.
