online sometimes its difficult to explain yourself. Ever had this happen? Where you are on a site and you make a commit to someone you don't know and they take it wrong? I jumped right to it, trying to explain what I meant, the moderator hadn't been watching and took her side. Told me to please leave her alone when all I was trying to do was explain myself. GHEESH! Have you ever had this happen to you? It is so frustrating. I just moved on. What did you do?

Absolutely I know what this is like and the only thing I do after my explanation is simply move on and let it go. I have learned it is far easier to ignore and let go then getting myself all worked up with an avatar and my computer screen then it is to perhaps be able to explain to someone in person.

Typing words without having facial expressions, or voice changes can make it hard to fully express one's self.

Exactly! And as much time as these young people log online now days why don't they get that. I think she may have been tired.

That can sometimes be one of the problems and issues with being online, and in places like here in myLot, in Chat rooms, forums, etc. There are so many people coming online with different backgrounds, from different countries, religions, etc. to where it can be easy from time to time to not always agree with everyone and something that is said. The thing is learning to move past it and becoming a better person because of it.

Hi Celti! I would restrict my response in respect of mylot discussions. I avoid making comments to unknown users because it could be unnecessarily misunderstood. I only post my comments or sub-comments, when at least of the users (host or the respondent) is known to me. I do not make sarcastic or silly comments, so as to hurt anyone.

But when you are new to this type of site you either talk to those you don't know or get no revenue for that day!

I agree with you that as a new person, you need to take your chances on a new site.

U just have to take some people w/a grain of salt. I don't mind that they have a different opinion than me but i don't like it when they are rude.I had a guy accuse me of lying when i wrote the discussion about the young boys raping that little girl. That didn't go over good at all. lol. I let him have it & then a friend of mine did to. The coward never responded to either of us.

Sometimes people take their frustrations w/someone else out on who is handy. I found that out working for the public 47 years. Don't worry about it.

All I did was go back on the site, saw she was still there so I commented on it. I see you're still here. Is that wrong? The other person I said the same thing to didn't find a problem with it at all.

Oh yes, that happened to me several times already. I think there are those people who just wants to piss you off even though they know what you really mean - you know what i mean, they provoke you.

And the monitor seemed to know her and took her side which I thought was really unprofessional of her.

A moderator should not even be taking sides - that was really so unprofessional...

I've seen that on a chat site, where one of the users pissed off a moderator, tried to explain themselves, and then another moderator jumped in and told them to quit while they were behind. I guess sometimes you just have to let it go...

Oh, I let it go. I just thought it so frustrating. I didn't do a thing. Just said hello and acknowledged that she was still on the site. Weird. And the other person I had said the same thing to didn't have a problem with it at all. And the moderator wasn't even paying attention.

That would be frustrating. Once someone makes their mind up and thinks they understand, alot of times they just close their minds to any type of explanation. It is easy to be misunderstood online. I think that people should be aware of the possibilities of it when they participate. I mean...there is no emotion or sounds to clue us so what is read is read..sometimes it can sound harsh or cold. I always try to be understanding of that when I am reading. The way people look at things really have an affect too. All we can do is move on.

Very frustrating. And to have the moderator take her side and even admit that she didn't see what happened was disturbing.

Some people like to provoke you. It makes them feel powerful. I've learned to not let it make me feel to terribly bad. But it is frustrating. I have also learned that there are those who don't come out with their anger or overtly try to provoke you, but nonetheless are intent on trying to make you look foolish. There are those I will answer right back, and those I ignore. There are those whom I realize are just misunderstanding me...or I them and I will then apologize. MyLot will certainly challenge your people skills. One of the reasons I enjoy it so much.

I can totally understand where you are coming from. It's so easy to be misunderstood online because you don't have the visual and audio cues of a face to face conversation. That part is understandable but to have the moderator gang up against you when you were simply trying to fix it just adds to your frustration. It's hard to let something like that end on a bad note because you feel bad but sometimes there is just no fixing it. It's a shame because it can give you a bad name when it's totally undeserved. You never know though, maybe sometime in he future you will have the opportunity to straighten it out so there's no hard feelings.
