I have been disturbed by certain members of mylot who appear to be attacking new members. I noticed over this weekend, coincidental or not, 2 or 3 old members became new members. This was evident as they are openly admitting they have been on mylot for up to 6 years!
I befriended them as they appeared to add to mylot rather than detract. perhaps i am being glib or nieve but a certain fellow scotsman seemed to come in for a hard time in the tagging area in particular.
What are your thoughts on returning members? i certainly saw no malice in the discussions and was quite aghast at the nastiness of the tags.
Should not everyone be welcome on this site so long as they behave themselves? Or am i missing a trick here?
Can i have your thoughts please, especially on the scotsman as we Scots pride ourselves on our honesty and candour.

I do tag discussions but I don't do nasty ones! I know there is alot of nasty people on Mylot. I know of one Mylotter who has come and gone over 4 and a half year period. Every time this person comes back they are always getting pissed off at the new Myloters! It is like there is nothing else to enjoy on Mylot but to trash the new people here! This person I know has issues and would be better off never coming back! I know if they do,it will be the same thing over again! We don't need that here! I wish this person could be banned for life!

The FAQs clearly mention the purpose of tags: "Tagging is a way of using a keyword, or a descriptive term, to categorize and search discussions. Tags are chosen informally and personally by the discussion starter, responder, commentator, or any person interested in the discussion topic.
A discussion should have one or more "tags" associated with it to help organize the discussion as part of our automated classification system."
In a recent discussion Admin have clearly stated that tags other than for the purpose as mentioned in the FAQs can be removed by anyone.

Negative tagging is not appropriate. It is not what tags are for. If someone has a problem with another user or their post, it should be reported, not tagged. We also do not need to call names

Tags such as 'reported' 'guidelines violations' used to flood the 'tags' area. These kind of tags deter users from responding because many a time such tags are put there even though those topics are not guidelines violations.

ajk hi ohmy again people are putting mean tags on just for spite.it was so bad that a few years back my ;lot admins warned that people who made flaming pr insulting tags would be kicked out. like the trolls who minus simply for spite these taggers seem to delight in posting really disgusting tags. I love to see some of my old friends returning. I like
to see anyone returning here as its a great site. No nobody deserves tol have vicious tags put on their discussions. the discussion poster must send a message to mylot admins telling then of the discussion and the vicious tag so mylot admins can do something about it.There is no excuse for putting demeaning tags on anyone discussions at all. ajk good discussion as this point needs to be brought
to both mylotters and admins attention. it is plain wrong.

Tags are here to be used to organize our posts. It also gives the search engines something to search for. Who is going to want to search for things under the caption "reported" If a post needs to be reported, then well and good, we are to report it. It is up to admin to make the decisions about them once they are reported.

It is a free world and everybody should be given fair chance here in myLot. I think we can call the attention myLot's admin and file our complaints together with some proofs. I happen to read their notices about rude mylotters and they are ready to give us support and act on it as soon as possible.
I notice that they are closely monitoring all postings there so I am sure they make sure that nobody gets bullied here.

We should avoid flame wars here in MyLot. In Hawaii, "Ohana" means family. We are one big online family here in MyLot.
