and I wonder what you think. This Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Obama is trying to pass. They are calling it the "crown jewel of socialiam". The American practicianers, federal court and the people of the US have opposed this plan from the very beginning. It is like the one Canada has. I have heard some good things about it but also that it will take forever to get to see a doctor and that is only the beginning. I oppose it. I think that we don't need something like this with all the other horrid things going on in the healthcare industry. It is just going to add to an already unworkable system. Your thoughts. Your healthcare system is controlled and run by organisations whose primary concern is to make money. The sooner the power is taken from the insurance companies and put in the hands of a government department (federal or State based, it doesn't matter) whose primary aim is what it should be ... fair and timely healthcare for ALL citizens, the better off the health of your country will be.

Money, money, money. I really don't care to see government running healthcare. They run everything else. State would be good but not federal.

In the EU, healthcare is run on a state/country basis. I know the comparison between the EU and the USA cannot really be made (and we are still very wary of EU control) but state controlled health care generally works well here. Some people, of course, still opt for private health insurance and some companies offer it as a benefit (and get some deductions from their National Insurance payments as a result), so it DOESN'T mean cutting out the Insurance industry at all (there are plenty of other things they can make money from!) Health care which is free for all citizens should be a basic right. It has nothing to do with 'socialism' or left wing politics, really (and our National Health system has been supported by ALL parties since 1947).

celticEagle it cannot be made worse than it already is.I am awaiting a referral to get new diabetic shoes with brace and still waiting.us on hmos are like lost sheep nobody seems to care if we get seen or not so I am hoping maybe it might work even if obama is thought of as horrible aNd awful and all the rest.I think if he had been a fat stuffed shirt like george w bush and white, people would all be praising him. oh well I hate politics now as everyone is mad at everyone else and I dare not even say what party I belong to without being crucified here right on mylot. so please just for give me for my opposing thoughts as I respect yours too.

I disagree on the black and white thing. I think Bush was one of the worst presidents we ever had. Clinton was better than him on a bad day! I bet youre a republican. Just a guess. Yes, I respect your thoughts as well. I pity people on HMOs now days. Insurance companies are too powerful now.

Complicated system very frustrating, especially if it is a lot of interference. If in a country where I live it is definitely a lot of hands a lot and cut costs is not clear (corruption). What's today's kosher for the sake of his position, wealth, etc. Though there are still many people in need, people whose lives are more versatile than our shortcomings. God all know everything ...
