Do you long for city or country living?

I long for more quiet and think my ideal is living on at least an acre of land with evergreens and a lake and fairly isolated from neighbors. I want to be somewhat close (within about 30 minutes) to some fairly large city for shopping, but mostly I just want to be close to nature. How about you?? Are you happy with your surroundings now or would you change them if you could?

I would trade city life for the country any day. Without a doubt! I hate city life, the smog, the traffic, the people and just everything to do with city life. I am looking forward to getting the money somehow to get some land, build a home and get out of the city. I don't care if it's really far from a major city, in fact, I don't care if it's far from a small town. City life will probably kill me and I'd rather not go that way.

TY...you are kind of young to be worried about being killed by smog and stress, aren't you. LOL I am teasing you, but just a little..I peeked at your age. I think city life is stressful and long for the soothing sounds of nature...even though I have meditation tapes of nature sounds, it's just not the same.

We live north of the downtown area, sort of suburban, but not really, but it's as close to country life as I'll get for now. Living in the city my entire life, I'm ready for a change. I hate the stress of city life especially with my job, I'm on the road all the time. We have a lot of nature where we are, which is nice, but not enough to satisfy me.

kris182_2000 I moved closer to my kind of nature in a suburb from the desert...still not close enough for me as I like rocks, evergreens and water...that's the ideal environment in which I hope to live someday..

TY ...I have thought of the beach but I think also of the fog and moldy shoes lol... Living 15 minutes from the beach sounds nice..but don't you have a lot of foggy days?? Or like my daughter, maybe you like fog??
