vhavishdhankar there are numerous sites on the web telling you what to put in an earth quake preparedness kit and among these do not forget an exeta pair of shoes, extra glasses, medicatins, water, packaged foods, matches, led flashlights with extra batteries, extra blankets things you might need and might be buried so keep your kit in a very acessible place,.' now a lot of quakes are not horrible diseastes and only cause stuff to fall off shelves. to be safe of feel safe stand a few beet back from a door way not in the doorway as once suggested. many walls over door ways have been \known to come down ontop of the persin in the door way, another good place is u nder a heavy wooden table or uner a heavy desk.'like I say here iN california dozens of little shakes just startle you but you just need to stay calm and for Goodness sakes do not just rush out into the street if its harder in a business area as signs and over overhead paraphernalia can come down on your head.

I am not sure if there is anything humanly possible that we can do to actually stop the earthquakes. The earth does what it wants to. I wish we could prevent them from happening but it is just not possible. The only thing we can do, is take shelter from it when it hits.

Preparation my friend. But remember the most well played plans only work until the first arrow is loosed. So, do you have a minimum 72 hour supply of food and water, in a safe location in your home? Is your home structurally built to withstand an earthquake? Batteries, a radio, a light, a change of clothes, matches, candles, something to read? If you are caught by surprise, a good place to go is into a door frame, they are usually the safest place, to avoid something landing on your head, but it isn't a sure thing, nothing is a sure thing. Best of luck, I would strongly suggest, preparing for the worst, but praying for the best. If you focus more on being prepared, then on what could happen, chances are you won't have to worry so much. Sincerely and with Appreciation.
