A friend of my husband introduced us to this tasty and easy snack called a bacon wrapped dog. It is similar to a pig in a blanket, but the hot dog is wrapped in bacon and broiled instead of wrapped in dough and baked. It usually takes one piece of bacon to go around each hot dog and then just broil them until the are done, usually about 5 minutes. Have you ever had one of these? If so, do you like them? We enjoy them as a snack in the evening or as a quick lunch.

Seems like a lot of nitrates but I think my son would love them. I might try it as a special treat. Thanks.

I love it! I ordered it in a minibar, it was on-a-stick. Then tried it at home. This time I tried few alters. I paired the bacon-wrapped dog with toasted bread, you'll enjoy the crunchiness. After that, I soaked a loaf bread into milk then wrapped it on the bacon dog, then fry it. Then served with orange juice, it'll tingle your tongue-buds. Enjoy!

I usually add cheese to our pigs in a blanket, but I wonder why they are called whistle dogs?

I haven't had them, but that sounds better than a plain hotdog.
